Still have troubles posting pictures, but learning. How do you put more then one picture in a post? I use the Image select at the bottom but only allows me to do one at a time?

Well, we did the drive again today (1 1/2 hours each way) to go visit the grey and toke some more picutres. She said he is 12 weeks old and would be ready to go in about 3 weeks. What do you guys think? Is that too soon (I've heard it should be 16 weeks)? Does he look to be 12 weeks old here? I also had my first bite today, ouch! That's smarts. Right on the tip of my finger. Drew a little blood too, but glad to get it over and done with as now at least I know what it can be like (sometimes the imagination can be worse).

Stupid weekends. I find for myself that trying to quit smoking, it is the weekends that are the hardest. At least during the week you have things to keep yourself occupied and busy with at work, etc. But the weekend is a time to relax and get ready for next week for me. It is these times that are or so very difficult. And sitting here at noon on Saturday I am literally climbing the walls wanting one. Plus, i am about to get into the car and go drive for two hours each way to visit my bird (the car is where I smoke the most). AGHHHHH!!!!!

Yeah, I was right. But the whole "name it a boy and it will be a girl...name it a girl and it will be a boy" thing never fails :laugh:

Hey Toni, Could you take a picture of the back of it as well so we can see how they made the poop catcher? That would be fairly easy to remake but would help to see the back too.

Hi Ronda, I know you have just made some significant progress with Sweetheart and you would find it difficult to leave at this point, but in all fairness to yourself, your husband, and his parents, are you going to put the next 50 years on hold for Sweetheart and never leave? Is that also being fair to your husband and his parents (espcially if you haven't been there in 2 years)? I am sure Sweetheart will be fine for a few days with your brother watching over him. Have him come in a few times first so Sweetheart can become familiar and comfortable with him. And in the end, who knows, when you come back, maybe Sweetheart will feel even more close to you (distance makes the heart grow fonder). Anyone else have an opinion?

Jenna is a beautiful bird. Looks like she is coming along just fine. I too am thinking of heading out there this weekend, about an hour and a half drive away for me.

I know what you mean about the annoyance of non-smokers (specially complete strangers) telling you you should just quit, as though it's like just turning off a light switch. Almost makes me want to have another smoke right there. There was this one time I was having a smoke in a designated smoking area and this stranger saw us smoking and actually went out of her way to walk past us and into the smoke and commented to her friend with her that people should be made to quit smoking. While, she had on this strong perfume that was just nasty (and actually gave me a headache). After her comment I turned to my friend and said "people should not be allowed to where perfume like that, don't they know that can give people miagraines and put them out of commission for days?". The look she gave back to me, LOL. My point is (and was) we all do things that annoy people and vica versa so don't get to high on yourself when you see someone doing something that annoys you and think "at least I don't do that" because we all do something that others view the same way.<br><br>Post edited by: Imme, at: 2008/02/28 19:25

Hi FairY, I had actually talked to Abdullah on Feb 12th (when I first logged in). He seemed fine to me at that time. He explained to me that he did not have a Grey and had just determined that he wasn't ready yet until at least this summer. So maybe he isn't on because he realizes that he won't be getting one for awhile. Don't know if that helps you, but might expain why he hasn't been on for awhile.

Raposa, I estimate I will be bringing home my Grey on April 5 or so. That's only two weeks apart .

That is great. I bet she is doing it to try to get your attention when your busy (as it seems to me she really wants your attention). Try acting busy the next time but actually listen to her it. Then you can let us know what she says. Karma for Greyce's first word B) .

While, I got a cage for him/her yesterday. It is a used cage but the price was great and in very good condition. Just needs lots of cleaning (no rust, etc). The size is 36" x 24", that is big enough, right? I got some new pics this week so I'll try to post them up soon. Plus, I hope to go visit him this weekend. How is the getting ready going for you, Raposa? Still no idea for names yet. I was leaning towards Smokie; however, I am afraid the "mo" part may come across as a "no" to him at times. Trying to avoid anything that may sound like it (bad enough my name is Joe :blink: ). Any suggestions?

Hey, I think I finally figured out this site. I would post a message and then get an e-mail when notifying me to someone replying. While, recently all my posts were replies which I guess I don't get notification on and here I thought nobody was replying to me :dry: . Anyway, with on with an update on my attempt. I broke down this weekend and ended up buying a pack of cigs (that lasts me 2-2 1/2 days). However, once the pack was done I put the patch back on. It is oh so difficult but I'm not ready to stop trying. It's a slip but not a fall yet. I know what you mean about the whole party thing making you start again, I think I explained how that got me started again after stopping for 6 monthes in my last post. You know your ready to try again once you have that resolve/desire to try again. Hope you try again as this thread has inspired me to try, try, try again so no matter what, your effort has not been in vain.

It really is sad, but the self promise of getting a cup of coffee at work gets me going in the morning. But don't mean to hijack the thread here. Nychsa, do post some videos if you can of Bella.

Oh, this is scary. I am so not a morning person and I get my grey in about a month. How will I survive? You only have to push the alarm twice each morning? I have to set the alarm an hour in advance because I will instictively get up and turn it off without realizing it the first few times (I actually have two alarm clocks at the momment, not helpping much either:blush: ). I would bet I hit a snooze button 12 times before I actually get up. Imagine the worst possiable morning person you know and then imagine worse, you get me :blink: . Hopefully knowing I have someone to get up and take care of will help in the mornings.

Hey Laurie, It's been a week since anyone's posted in this thread so I am wondering how the quitting smoking is coming along? I read the thread because I've decided to try to quit again with the bird coming in just a few weeks and best not to smoke around him (although I haven't smoked in my house for a year. Yes, I go outside/garage no matter how cold it gets). I myself am at day three using the patch. It has worked in the past (through the patch stages and continued to quit at least 2 weeks means the patch did it's job, I just got too confident like you said above and went to a pub after six months, while, you know what happened, I'm trying to quit again). Yes, I started on a Monday like you but I find that gives me the best start. Work keeps me busy so I don't have to fight it all day, just the usual times I would go for a smoke. It's the weekends that are tough for me. And the worst thing for me is being around someone smoking. Drives me CRAZY! I wouldn't be able to go to the basement or I will smoke. That is always my downfall, but I can't not go to family members houses who smoke. That is my weak area. Anywayz, enough rambling on. Just thought I would check to see how it is going for you.

Sorry for your loss, Aldosbooks. I have read that danger in the past but figured my pots would never get that hot. I have also heard the same thing regarding the self-cleaning ovens (which do get that hot) so I will never use that again.

Thanks everyone. I am very excited. Raposa, sounds like we'll be getting the birds at almost the same time. I'll be getting him/her at the beginning of April. It will be exciting. I am sure I'll be having questions before the arrival and even more after the arival . I'll post the pictures as I get them each week too so everyone can watch him grow with me.
