  1. im only writing this cause i work for animal control and i have seen this happen too many times. alot of people take there birds outside which nothing wrong with that, but some have known to take off, well there are people that call the animal shelter stating they have lost the parrot or any kind of bird, they got around check with people on there street, i know most people when i say this will tell me oh that wont work but it does and if someone has your bird, you will know it by doing this , walk through your street at night calling for your bird, wait until real late when you believe that most people are in bed and call for your bird, your bird will yell back, we have had people find there birds that way. or if they are in the trees, they will come down due to it is quite at night, they are night people or dogs out to scare them. hey it is worth trying, and i know a few people that got there birds back that way.
  2. thats pretty neat that they can just hang in the living room all day, i wish i could do that with my birds, but i have a roaming cat and my grey scares the cat and im afraid someone will get hurt, im sure it will be the cat jacked up though cause for some reason when i have my birds out he hides in the other room under the bed lol. if i didn't have the cat and my husband i sure would do that
  3. thanks everyone for writing back you both have help me out alot
  4. ok my grey is 10 months old and i was wondering if they loose there baby feathers, i have noticed that he is plucking out his chest feathers, he was bald in one spot then started growing new feathers in there, and now there is another little part on his chest that is missing a little hair. i thought maybe it was due to he is bored so i bought more toys and everything and he is healthy nothing wrong i was just wondering if they loose there baby feathers, could someone please help thank you.

  10. i have heard that some are late bloomers, greys are very smart birds and sometimes most of them wont talk with you in the room, some do it when no one is around, mine is 4months old and is trying to say things and also i was told that between 8-9 months they start talking and some even say between a year to two years,it just all depends on the bird itself.

  18. i was just interested in hearing on how your babies actted when you first got them home. were they hard to handle. were they mean? i was just reading a ladies blog and she had one hell of a time with hers but i was thinking it was due to she had to have hers shipped and instead of being a 5 hour trip it turned to a 14 so i was thinking maybe hers was due to stress, im getting my bird from a breeder who lives only a hour away. i was just interested in hearing from others and hows theres went. thank you;)
