  1. Personally I would keep the birds there anyway and tell them to go **** themselves. If they want to evict you after the trouble you went to find somewhere that you could take your pets then tell them to do so, it will cost them money and take about 6 months in legal procedures. dont lie there and take it.
  2. I bought the Aviator harness but Kaan just doens't like it. He hates the straps close to him and spends the entire time trying to remove it.
  3. I dont think you can ever bond as well with a older bird as with a young one, If you really want an African Grey do it properly I say.

  5. Worth every penny! My friends dog costs them £3 per day just to feed it...
  6. Apollo's a great name for a Parrot, glad to hear your both settling in Not sure why an experienced bird seller would give you a bird that hasn't been weaned yet but it sounds like you got thorugh it okay. Hope you decide not to clip his wings as there is nothing better than a happy Parrot flying around getting into mischief. And there are lots of games you can play with them when they're able to fly. KHAN likes to hang upside down off my hand then I slowly spin around until he flies off then comes back for more. Being able to fly doesn't mean he's going to shoot through the first open window he see's. Mine never goes near an open window although i do keep a very close eye on him anyways. All the best!
  7. My CAG is flighted and lives in the flat with me, He would be bored if he wasn't flighted I think. He sits ontop of my PC monitor most of the time and sometimes flies to the window to look out, or into his cage for a bit for food or a kip. I move him every 15mins to his stand to go poo, i can always tell if he wants one even if he's in my peripheral vision... and sometimes he does remember to goto the playstand first. You should keep him off the top of doors, and i put a small cuddly-toy of a bumble-bee ontop of the curtain rail as he's scared of it and wont go near it I put him back in his cage if i'm popping out or if i'm doing something he might get into trouble with. Shoo him off anything you dont want him on straight away and keep doing it so he knows where he can go and where he cant. The 'Come here' command is a very handy skill.
  8. Damn Dan I hope your relationship never ends and you start a new one, you'd prob. never want to see your first baby again.... I couldn't imagine getting rid of Khan, i've had him since he was a baby too and he is like one of my kids. By the way I live in a flat and he has no problem with space..... It would be really hard for your grey to settle with someone else, but then since you only say your 'gutted' about having to sell him you obviously dont have a good relationship with the bird anyways.
  9. The bottle with the brush is actually really good at getting it off carpets, i have laminated floors now but i used to keep the bottle and refill it with a little washing liquid and water.
  10. Yeah you'll be fine, by one he'll be latching onto you. Sounds like he's going to get spoilt rotten. Sorry to hear about the one that got lost though mine is only just 2 i couldn't imagine loosing him.
  11. Mine does exactly the same thing misty but also expects the rich tea buscuits to come out, he loves them dunked in tea.
  12. Is this real? They may be selectively breeded by people but I really really want one!
  13. Sounds like your a bit more afraid of him than you should be He obviously trusts you just spend some time with him
  14. At the time of the earthquake I was in the room with the lights off and the cage door open, Khan shot out of the cage flew around and sat on my shoulder constantly looking behind himself out of the window he was really freaked out by it.

    Joke

A woman went to a pet shop and immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot.. There was a sign on the cage that said $50.00. 'Why so little,' she asked the pet store owner. The owner looked at her and said, 'Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of Prostitution, and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff.' The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird any way. She took it home, hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something. The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, 'New house, new madam.' The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then thought, 'that's really not so bad.' When her two teenage daughters returned from school, the bird saw them and said, 'New house, new madam, new girls.' The girls and the woman were a bit offended but then began to laugh about the situation, considering how and where the parrot had been raised. Moments later, the woman's husband Keith came home from work. The bird looked at him and said, 'Hi, Keith!'
