  1. Well I decided on a CAG instead of the Severe Macaw. I've always wanted a Grey for he longest time. That's why I got a TAG, Harley, in the first place. So, I am really happy about the decision. I am going to get it sexed. In the meantime, I'll be thinking of some names. I'm sure its personality will help me decide on a name. Thank you everyone for your condolences on Harley and all of the advice. Christoph As I get some pictures I'll post them
  2. I talked to the vet and it was found that Harley died from chronic diarrhea. They didn't find any bacteria or anything. I never noticed a weight change and nothing different in his droppings. Or maybe I didn't look close enough. I don't know. I have been looking at other birds. I still love greys, but they remind me of mine and I think I would like to have something different this time. I saw a 2 month old Severe Macaw that very sweet. I really like this one. Anyone have any experiance with the severe's? Oh and if anyone had any exeriance with diarreha in birds please give me some advice on this so I know more on what to watch out for. I admit that I am a little nervous of something happening again, but I guess that's natural. Thanks Christoph
  3. Thanks everyone for the replies. It may be a little bit before I hear anything with the ne year and all, but I will definitely post when I hear back from them.
  4. My parents have a self cleaning oven, but she (Mom) says that the self cleaner hasn't been used for about six years. Harley is off for a necropsy at Iowa State University. Hopefully they will know something. Thanks for all the replies Oh and that picture was taken of Harley a couple of weeks ago.
  5. Well I'm sad to say that m Timneh, Harley, passed away last night. This was my first grey and he was only 11 months old. He was fine yesterday and they come yesterday afternoon I noticed that he was very quiet and sleeping a lot. I held him for a while before I put him to bed and he was walking around and chirping like normal. I put him to bed and I woke up early this morning to find him lying on the bottom of the cage. We did make a road trip about 1,050 miles from Va Beach, Va to Iowa. We have been here for a week now and he was eating plenty and being his normal self until yesterday afternoon. Any ideas what can cause a sudden death like this? I think I will take him to the vet to see if they can figure anything out. Thanks
