  1. I think is absolutely hilarious when Gizmo hangs upside down and sticks his head between his legs to play with his toys, he looks so uncomfortable! -I'll have to post a pic in a bit after I resize it! 2. I give my grey some organic soy cheese every now and then and he LOVES it! I don't feed him a lot of it though because it is still high in fat, at the same time though it has a high amount of calcium in it!
  3. I would let him squawk, and hope he realises that it doesn't get him attention, then when he makes good noises praise him, give him toys, talk to him, hold him. Pretend he isn't doing anything, like when they bite. Hopefully it will be replaced with talking, clicking and things like that.
  4. that's good to know, I'm not sure how much he weighs right now, I don't actually have a scale or anything, but I'll get one and start watching because I think you are right, his weight is probably the best and easiest way to find out! Thanks again!

    Overeating?

I feed my grey some of everything (except the grapes, chocolate, avacados, that stuff), example: breakfast is veggies, fruit, maybe some egg with pellets and a few seeds mixed in. supper would be spaghetti with veggies, pellets, maybe some meat. A typical day would be like this. In total he would have about a cup and a half of food in his dish. I've had him for a few weeks now, he is 1 year old, and the previous owner told me he was a picky eater. But first he eats his seeds, then his fruit, then his veggies, then whatever else, he eats everything! Only thing is usually he eats until it is all gone, so in total he will spend an hour eating then drinking, then eating some more until pretty much all of it is gone! I refill him with mostly pellets and veggies after that, does anyone else's grey find it necessary to eat everything? I make sure he always has food, but I didn't expect this! Should I be giving him less because he is overeating? Maybe because he is only 1 year old? He really likes the food? TIA (thanks in advance)
  6. ok good, I had a budgie that I bought from a pet store and it had health problems, it always sneezed and would wheeze after flying. Really affectionate and a really smart and good bird, but it's health got the better of her. I wanted to make sure it wasn't something in my house that was making them both sneeze, and that this is something I found later down the road I should have looked into! Thanks again!
  7. Sorry if I already posted this but I couldn't find it...so I'm guessing I didn't finish. I just have a question: Just got my Grey, he is a year old and makes sneezing sounds. He eats healthily, plays, is social, seems to be fine. I was wondering if this is normal, or if it is something I should be watching? Thanks!

    sneezing?

I just got my Grey, he's a year old and periodically sneezes, or so it sounds like. Is this normal? Bad? Or is he just clearing his nose? He is playful, happy, eating a fairly large variety of foods, so there doesn't seem to be anything else wrong. But I just wanted to know if this was normal. Thanks!
  9. Yea, last night he fell asleep on my hand while I was petting him. Oh, he's a year old, forgot to mention that
  10. Thanks! I did get the name from the movie Gremlins! I've noticed that because he has his wings clipped, he doesn't fly (of course), but he will duck down, spread out his wings and move like he is going to jump, if i don't take him where he is trying to go he picks at his feet and does it all over again.
  11. Hi, my name is Brittany, I'm 21, I just got my first CAG two days ago, so far so good! His name is Gizmo, he's a year old, doesn't bite and is mischievious! First thing I am going to do is poop train him to go at his cage. He's a very picky eater, but I'm working around that. Thanks!
