Making Toys

I have been looking for some toy ideas. Diego's toy budget was getting a little out of control, lol. He has been eating a $10-$15 toy about every 2 days. These are some great ideas. THANKS!
2. Thanks for the advice. I have been asserting myself with him and making him step up when he is acting that way with his food. He is stepping up when I ask him to. Maybe he will realize it isnt good to bite his mommy who feeds him, lol:)
3. My CAG is about 10 months old and recently he is getting possessive of his food bowls. He tries to bite me when I touch them. He isn't a biter either. He never bites me any other time. He has 2 food bowls that are always full, one with his pellets and one with his fruit snack and nuts. I also make him an egg or oatmeal everyday for breakfast. I dont understand why he is becoming agressive when it comes to his food. He is out of his cage most of the day and just wanders in when he wants to eat. I try to take his bowls when he is eating to try and break him of this behavior. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Terri

Eggs

Thanks, I will try the recipes and oatmeal. I just know he looks forward to it everyday, so I feel bad not giving him what he wants, but his health is most important to me.

Post edited by: TerriW, at: 2008/03/07 18:05

Eggs

I have been cutting the egg portion down a bit, so its not a whole egg. I will try the alternatives you suggested, maybe he will like them, I hope, LOL:)

Eggs

Hi, My Grey loves scrambled eggs. I have asked the man at the exotic bird store if this is okay and he seems to think that one egg a day is fine. This seems like too much to me, but my Diego waits for it every morning. He eats it like a freak, really fast, he begs while I am cooking it. I just hate to take it away from him, he enjoys it so much, but I am concerned that it is too much. He is a really fussy eater and picks the yellow pellets out of his food only and picks out certain things from his treats. Does any one else have a picky eater? Thanks:S

10. I live in New Castle, PA about an hour from Pittsburgh.
11. I am so excited, my Diego is going to the bathroom on command. Whenever he went to the bathroom, my husband and I made a big deal saying, " Good boy, make your poop" LOL and now, I just hold him over a paper towel and say make your poop, and he does. Sometimes we have to say it several times but he always goes. We are so happy, I was getting sick of cleaning poop off my clothes and furniture, LOL.
12. My CAG's name is Diego, it just suited him.
13. Hi Everyone, My name is Terri, my husband and I are 1st time Grey owners. We bought a baby African Grey from an exotic bird store in October. His name is Diego and he was born on June 26th 2007. We just love him. Thankfully he has bonded with us both and doesnt seem to prefer one to the other. He takes a shower with me everyday, lol, the highlight of our evening. He started whistling the Adams family theme recently and is mumbling some things we cant understand yet. He has learned to climb the stairs after us, he doesnt like to be left alone. We couldnt be happier with our decision to buy a Grey. We researched it for 2 years and looked for about a year until I found my baby, I knew he was the right fit for us immediatly. I was happy to see that there are forums for Grey owners, I am learning alot from reading the posts. Thanks, Terri
14. Hi Everyone, I am a new grey owner and I noticed that occasionally my bird fluffs up and shivers for a few seconds. He does this in all sorts of situations, a few times a day. He does this when sitting with me or my husband, in his cage, and on his perch. I find it hard to believe he is cold. I keep him away from drafts and I keep my heat on 73, just for him. My friend has a red lored amazon and he says his bird does this too and it is normal. I was just wondering if anyone knows why they do this? Thanks, Terri

Post edited by: TerriW, at: 2008/02/26 00:56
