thanks for your replies,i am so thankfull to have her back and will now be extra carefull.She is non the worse from her adventure and is a bit of a daredevil lol where as Babygirl is more wary of things,Angel did have black poop the next day but i kept an eye on her and its back to normal. When i had Babygirl,i often wondered what i would do if she got out so i taught her to "find mommy" and to come to the sound of her bell,i didnt have the chance with Angel so i am so glad that she knew her treats were kept in that orange bowl. Wow i am so lucky...i havent posted for a while so for those that dont know me my name is trish and have a grey that is 3 this year and have recently purchased a little baby,she was hatched on 12th oct 2008 and i had her home 11th jan 09.....she is so sweet and doesnt like men(which is a bonus for me as babygirl is all her daddy!!!!)i have named her Angel.....well she must have had one looking after her last night,because the dreaded thing happened,Angel escaped...i was absoulutly devastated...we searched all night,ringing her bell,shouting and whistling but nothing...my hubby was up early morn waiting for the birds to wake then he searched again...nothing....as mid morn aproached i put babygirl in her outside cage encouraging her to whistle and shout and boy was she going for it you could hear her from way way away....after a terrible afternoon of worry at last someone thought they had seen her....i went clambering in peoples gardens searching even the ones where there was no one in....my hubby found her and grabbing her biscuit bowl(she is partial to strawberry custard creams)i then had to try and get her down from the high tree in which she was pearched,after a few tense momemnts i managed to get her to come to me...what a relief....she is perfectly ok,and i am so glad that the weather was mild ...:cheer: love trish,babygirl and Angel

hiya goldn1 i play im gonna get your sexy red tail sometimes babygirl loves this game and gets all excited begging for me to play and will turn her tail to me so i can tickle it then ,ill say run ,quick im coming for your tail and she will run over her cage and climb up her ropes

thanx for ideas, i dont think i will be playing horsey just yet i like my fingers lol

id be interested to know what games you play with your parrots i want to play more with mine but get stuck for ideas and cant hold her attention we play ball,and peek a boo but then im stuck any ideas love trish and babygirl xxxx

Kissing and cuddling, my hubby and me In the kitchen whilst cooking our tea "Mommy where are you?" i hear a voice say, "I love you mommy","are you okay?" A sweet tender voice as clear as can be, words spoken affectionatly,just for me! my cute little parrot with her sexy red tail, melts my heart,and makes me smile. "Beautiful","sexy",her endearing words flow, and when she says"i want a kiss mommy"i start to go, running on top of her cage as excited as can be, she stops,when she sees me With a smile on my face,i give her the command "Step up babygirl" and i offer my hand With a glint in her eye and as quick as a flash, she sinks in her beak and makes a deep gash "Ha ha ha" she chuckles when she sees the blood "THATS MY DADDY MARK",make that understood and in a sweet tender voice i hear her say "Daddy mark i love you!!" are you okay?" sunday 9.30pm its been a typical cold wet and windy day in england,watched american big brother for first time so different to ours, havent made up my mind wether i like it or not!!!watched american pop idol i prefer british version.Ive also been trying to create myspace page and am getting frustrated as im computer phobic lol but i will get there in the end i hope love trish and babygirl xxx

im want her to get used to me touching her so after ive got her to turn her head what part of the body should i try next and where should i be wary of touching

thanx ziggyB) that will be helpful,when i pay attention to her head ie stroking around eye area,ears and beak she will turn her head and let me stroke under her neck but then she sometimes bite so i dont know if she likes it or not and how can i help her with grooming love trish and babygirl

i had babygirl clipped when she was 7months and PERSONALLY i wished that id have waited untill she knew how to fly then maybe she wouldnt have hurt her chest, but who knows, perhaps ill change my mind when shes flying about something im really looking forward to(i think)

good luck,i will be keeping track to see how you get on it might be a good idea to try in a room where her tree and cage arent situated as she feels safe there and will want to get back to that place.i also noticed tnat i was giving babygirl mixed messages through what i was saying,i was giving the command to step up but when she went to bite i was saying no,not harshly.Im changing my approach by asking "do you want to step up" if she doesnt then say "dont you want to" and leave her alone

hi ladyjayne, ;)karma to you for that;) Both my boys are grown up(well age wise hahaha)22 and 19 and i loved it when they were little singing nursery rhymes,teaching them to talk,toilet training them bringing out their little personalities,lovin them.Now ive got the chance to do it all again with babygirl,shes given me an uplift in life.{Nature-00020092}

hi romaneagle,i also have this problem i tried the stick but babygirl kept biting it and attacking it then running away from it and getting into places that i found hard to manage,on one hand i needed her to learn step up and didnt want to back down in case she learnt that everytime i gave the step up command she could attack and that i would back away but on the other hand i didnt want her to get freaked. Baby girl used to step up for me ,i managed to teach her tostep up to a stick but after she had her accident she sees me as the person who sometimes gives her unpleasant experiences ie medicine,vets and surgery ,so i have to gain her trust again.Yday i persevered with stick untill she flew off cage,landed on sofa and stepped onto my hand as sweet as a nut:) This morning when i oppened her cage she stepped up but hasnt done it since,i have started to spend more time with her where she cant see her cage

babygirl loves peas in their pods(raw)she also likes cooked green beans and brocholi(sp?)i do vary her veg so she doesnt get fed up.Cant get her to enjoy fruit only grapes and pommegranets but i still keep introducing them:). love trish and babygirl xxxx;)

after a play session today in which i was trying to make babygirl laugh i realised that she has taught me how to behave like an idiot(it didnt take much learning:laugh:) and if id have videod it you guys would be laughin your socks off:laugh:babygirl was not amused,oh well i`ll keep tryin untill im carted away{Emotions-0002007D}. love trish and babygirl
