LOL... I'm so imbarist. I meant 450 grames. Gosh... He is a little over 4 months. And he still wants baby food. He's on one feeding at 6 P.M.. How will I know when he is weaning? He eats all his dry foods, and cooked fresh food. Please let me know. Lis

HEY grey friends, Hope everyone's New Years was awesome! Brody is home for good now, he is still on 1 feeding, and I'm the who is going to wean him. I have a few questions. So, he gets baby food at 6 P.M. and I weigh him every morning. He weighs 150 grames. Sometimes he wants the food and sometimes he will take only one 12 CC. He eats all his dry and cooked foods. How will I know he is starting to wean? Also, Brody, and all the other Grey's do this wired twitch. My boss told me its a Grey thing, but I just want to know if its normel? Thanks! Lisa

I know many have asked this question, but i would like to know what are the best seed based foods to feed? Like Brody get's Eclectus Select because it's his favorite, he also gets Goldenfeast and Beak Appetit cooked foods, and all the other stuff, veggies, fruites, birdie breads, etc. But, what kind of seed/pellet do you use for your baby? Thanks! Lisa

Well, Brody went back today, but decided that he wants to be home with me, so my boss will let me take him home every night and bring him back to the store in the morning. I'm so excited. I;ll be setting up his new cage in the bird room. He has a sleep cage in my room. Brody is so cute. He loves sleeping in his cubbie. By the way, to Grey's like little huts? He loves them and he loves to sleep with me, and cuddle. Of course im up when he is sleeping in my bed with me. Bye, LISA AND BRODY

Hello guys! Brody is doing very well. The only thing I'm woried about, he won't stay in his cage. He is so scared of everything and he wont sleep unless he is on me. What should I do!? Merry Christmas Brody, Lido, and Lisa

Hey guys! Gosh its been awhile since I've posted anything on Brody! I work alot, so I never really get the time to jump on and say HI. Anyways, here is a BIG HELLO!!!! ((((HUGS)))) Hope everyone's Christmas shopping is going great! The traffic is carzy, can't wait till Christmas is here. Okay.... now topic on Brody... :silly: He's on two feedings, (and loveing it!) so we are looking at early or mid January before he can come home. I'm the one who is hand feeding him, does that mean he will be alot closer to me? He's already trying to talk. He says Step up in a chirpy little voice, and says HELLO in a havey old mans voice. LOL. So, I have some questions. His cage is 32 by 23 by 67, is that pretty good? I have a few more but I can't think of them right now. LOL. I have some pics for you guys... Hugs, Lisa

LOL. :silly: I just love their sounds. I wish I could put it in words, but its very hard. Anyways, I visit Brody today and he just makes these knocking sounds. I will have to get it on video. Thankx! Lisa
-
LOL. I will... is that sounds the babyy's make? So when they are older its much more deeper? I wish I can hear a older grey. They all seem so quiet and shy. Are they all like that?

Do grey's have a bird call? Like a chirp or something similar? My baby Brody just make's little bubble piggy sounds. They don't have a call like any of the other parrots? I don't really care it was just something I was wondering about. Lisa

Hi Kelly, Welcome to the beautiful world of Grey love. I'm new here, but not new to birds. Its best to watch your kids with any bird. I work at a birdie pet store as a trainer for birds that have behavioral problems. I'm not really good at answering question's about Grey's "YET" but i'm getting there. Anyways, welcome again! Lisa

Okay, finally I've decided on this little star. Meet my baby boy, Congo Grey, Brody is his name for now. I'm still thinking of names, but I thought Brody was a cute name and it kinda fited him. I would like to know what size cage I should get him, and some Grey tips on when I bring baby home? It will be awhile, tho. How long does it usually take for them to wean? Hannah_Rae wrote: Hannah, they did not make it. 911 Parrot ALert went to my house and found them all perished . They were still in their traveling cages, like they were all ready to go with me, but the Gov would not let me bring them. I still have pics of them but I hate looking at them. I miss them so much! Hello Grey family! :cheer: Well, I'll share a little about myself. I've owned parrots for a little over 10 years. When I was 16 I worked at a Parrot Rescue Placement organization in Lafayette, La. There I was a trainer for Too's that were abused, feather plucked, screamer's, biters, mutilators, etc... and Quaker's who were also badly abused or wild caught. I did that for 3 years. I adopted my Zeta from the shelter, he was only 6 weeks old. Someone brought him to us after finding him covered in ants in his yard. We rushed him to an avian vet, he was saved, and I decided to finish hand feeding him and then he picked me. He was wild caught, but made an amazing friend, and baby. :silly: I work at Treetop Bird Center. Its a bird specialty pet shop in Dallas. I'm still new there, but I know what I'm doing. About the Grey: He or she is beautiful. I love it very much, but he is taken, one of the customers put a deposit down on him, and never comes to visit him. Its been a little over a month. I Handel all the birds there, so one morning when I was changing food and water bowls, he/she just came out and jumped on me, stud on my chest and snuggled under my chine. He is soooo darn cute. I'll take pics Monday. I work full-time there. Oh, and listen to this, I work morning's, earlie morning's, (hand feeding babies at 6 A.M.) so I do all the changing food and water bowls and cleaning up before we open, every time I go to the Grey's cage, there's two, I always have to say "I'll be right back. I have to feed other babies." I give him/her a kiss and leave. Well, today it said "I'll be right back!" OMG! I almost started to cry. That really touched my heart. I need to talk to my boss about letting me have her. I love this bird more then anything! I hope I get this bird!!!!!!! Lisa

Hi there, My name is Lisa. I'm a 21 year old parrot lover. I used to be a parront to 5 parrots, 3 Cockatiels, 1 Quaker, and 1 Caique. I lost all five to Katrina. I'm from New Orleans, La... we decided to stay and had to go to the Superdome for 5 days. When I asked the Coast Guard if I can take my birds, they said know. I last seen my birds on August 29, 2005. Now that we live in Texas I would love to add a Grey to my life. There's one that is in love with me at my job. Can you guys tell me a little about the Greys? Like what size cage, what kind of food to feed, what kind of personality's they have, and what toys they life. Thanks, Lisa
