  7. Yes i can vouch for stainless steel , i dont have any problems with them & best of all they dont pose any danger to our greys
  8. Hi Carol, as the others have asked, did you get your baby from a breeder ? no reputable breeder in the UK would sell an unweaned baby.I'm also sure this is not permitted & it's totally irresponsible behaviour on the breeders part. If you can give us some more information we will endeavour to help & advise you the best we can.
  9. Hi, i dont have a gas fire but i know a conventional gas fire discharges its fumes through a flue, or up the chimney as they contain harmful carbon monoxide. If in doubt i would invest in carbon monoxide detector, which is similar to a smoke alarm. I know that the very new & modern flueless gas fires remove the carbon monoxide by using a catalytic converter. I'm sure other members will be able to share their experiences with you
  10. i have 3 greys, so it can get loud ! but i would say they have specific times during the day when they are noisy, usually first thing in the morning, singing, whistling & occasionally shouting, calms during the day & they start again early evening. But Greys are not excessively loud compared to some of the other breeds out there.

Joe really ! That's not good sportsmanship I voted
  13. You wont be able to house them together even if they get along.Make sure you time is given equally to both birds otherwise you may encounter jealously. If you have them out together as dblhelix has said make sure they are supervised at all times. There are no guarantees they will get along or tolerate eachother, but i know of success stories when a second bird is introduced.Just take it slowly & dont expect to much.
  14. Well done to you, the post was never intended to scare anyone just show the misuse of Teflon but i applaud you for changing your cookware.

As with any grey there is never any guarantees they will learn to talk.Of course the majority do learn speech & the age varies greatly, some do talk very young but i would say they are the exception.Generally speaking many have spoke their first word before reaching the age of one. As for food here is a link that shows the range of food that are members feed. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/24030-whats-your-greys-diet.html
  19. I love that Joe,.........oh i can feel a new tattoo coming on
  20. Tari has given you great advice to follow, with everything air on the side of caution when using cleaning products.I personally would not use such things as air freshners etc around him.If a product smells strong to you, then just imagine how strong it would be to your grey, if you are unsure then i would discard it.
  21. Thanks judy Grape pips are fine but avoid olives they are excessive in oil & salt .
  22. Look forward to a picture then when you have made it up
