  1. Have you had any luck in finding a breeder ?
  2. Well personally i would say wait,10 weeks will fly by & you have a lifetime ahead of you to share with your new baby. Was you planning on leaving the baby with your friend or was your friend going to check on your grey at your home ?

  6. He is adorable,no wonder you couldnt wait to get home from work I'm sure by the sounds of things he will soon be in his new cage.
  7. It's crucial your grey has access to fresh water all day.The addition of vegetables can make the droppings loose. Are they firm at times through out the day ? What is a typical days diet for your grey ?
  8. {Feel-good-000200BB}Great stands your greys have there
  9. Hi Di, yes the leaves are fine for Monty to chew on in moderation,if you feel he is chewing on them to much just distract him with one of those great toys

  13. So we may have a bilingual grey in the making As you both speak English, i would perhaps start with this as common ground for the three of you.If you are giving Nokkvi specific commands, such as the "step up " command it needs to be clear what you are asking of him.Perhaps later on add a few Icelandic/Swedish hello's etc..once he has mastered his first language
  14. Hi Renee & Welcome to the forum we look forward to hearing more from you.
  15. your welcome Toni,im still on the case
  16. As far as i am aware a crockpot is fine, they tend to be made from either glazed ceramic or porcelain. Many members use air purifiers & they are perfectly safe to run in the same room as your grey.
  17. He is probably preening your hair for you, many greys do this to their owners,it is a sign that he is content being with you & is relaxed As for biting your ears, that's the risk from letting him on your shoulder, tell him no every time, get him to step up & return him to his play stand.Repetition every time I'm afraid until he understands.
  18. From everything i can see on the net Toni there is not a big difference between feeding a Grey & an Amazon,if you cant find anything i'd be inclined to use the hand feeding guide in the nursery as a general guide.. This is just a feeding in general but a nice read.. http://www.petsandshells.com/handfeeding.html
  19. Not to hand Toni, i have been looking but haven't come up with anything that is really sufficient.I'll keep trying for you Thought this was interesting... 20. Just try & keep your greys routine as close as you can to normal, surround her with familiar things, set the cage up the same etc..Some greys willingly accept a new home, others can be very distressed by it.Im sure she will be fine, having taken her to see the new home would have definitely helped.
  21. The list is endless & the majority of the food we eat is ok for our greys in moderation, with the exception of Avocado,Raw potato,Whole cloves of garlic, onions Alcohol,Chocolate, Coffee, Salt Chocolate, coffee, and cocoa contain theobromine, which is toxic to birds. Pasta, rice, jacket potato's, veggies, cereals, the occasional piece of meat, fish, chicken bone (they love to gnaw on the marrow ) these are just a few. Here is a link to a thread which shows what members feed their greys... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/24030-whats-your-greys-diet.html Have a look around the bird food room for additional information.<br><br>Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2008/08/25 23:39
  22. Birds are very much creatures of habit and routine. A new cage is a brake in his safe routine. Most birds will see a new cage as being a scary new object So let your feathered friend adjust to this scary object in his own time. Place some of his favorite things in the new cage. If the cage has a play top attach toys and put some of his favorite food in the new dishes. Even if he won’t approach the new cage having his favorite things within sight and easy reach will keep him interested and his natural curiosity will draw him to try out this new place in time. Some birds will adjust in a day. Others will take longer
