i know hemp is eagerly eaten by wild birds & is used in wild bird seed, it's also widely used by fisherman.I would as Mark & Judy advise discuss the benefits with an avian vet.

Karma to you Mario, a man after my own heart {Love-0002011E}, the bird world needs more people like you to give neglected, unwanted birds a chance of a happy & new life.
Just a quick up date
Soldier has made some vocal noises He is very intrested in the other three greys who he observes from his vantage point on top of his cage.I now can get within a foot of him without him growling,He has tried some tropical fruit mix & is enjoying it & even had a nibble on a palm nut,a great step from a seed only diet.
spookyhurst im with you, Trooper is a great name & reflects this birds determination to survive here in the UK, but i am still totally amazed he is still flying free, i will put the word out to a few people maybe they can post on some UK sites
As Judy said take it easy on the meat, give cheese as an occasional treat.Try offering more vegetables & fruit as they have a higher nutritional value than salad.
