1. Frankie has finally returned home... After my apartment fiasco two weeks ago, my entire family had a wedding and he had to stay with my grandmother. He is finally back in my apartment, happy as a clam. When he got back, he did his usual "mating" routine (I don't encourage it), but this time regurgitated up some food (the first time ever). I guess he missed me too... There are no more separations planned for a very very long time. Stephanie & Frankie
2. I'm definitely a member of the bite me club... Frankie's got a real attitude. Not only does he bite when he feels like it, but he chuckles ( a true laugh ) afterwards. :lol: It's bad because his laughing just makes me laugh... and then he laughs more the next time... Really need to work on my discipline techniques.
3. Congrats spooky. You take wonderful picture of Nikko
4. I think elvis is an awesome name for a bird... has to be the right bird though. Make sure it can croon and shake its little birdie hips...{Feel-good-0002006E}

Post edited by: frankieNYC, at: 2007/07/15 10:11
5. Frankie is generally around 400-410. On the small side for a CAG - he eats his fair share though Stephanie
6. LawnGuyland native here won't be making fun of any accents... looking forward to a state of the forum. I'm really enjoying reading all the posts and looking at everyone pictures{Emotions-000200BE}
7. I've been home in LI for the weekend, chilling with Frankie. He was so delighted to see me, stepped right up and just wanted headrubs and kisses. It's nice to know he missed me as much as I missed him. A side note, when he's outside my apartment, he becomes soo docile and needy. He clings to me and doesn't argue about stepping up. At home, he thinks he's the boss.... and does exactly as he pleases. I think i need to learn to lay down the law at home, but he's just too cute. stephanie
8. Frankie is short for "frank sinatra" because of his baby blues when i got him and his penchant for singing along. As it turns out, he prefers female vocalists... streisand is a favorite. Now he's Frankie 'cause he's a wise guy B) stephanie
9. I don't believe Frankie ever had the chance to fly... when I got him, he had a bad clip and it was like that for the first 1.5 years. For a while, he was chewing up his new blood feathers on one wing, but (knock wood) he hasn't recently. He is only now beginning to take flight. I don't think he even knows whats going on, he just flaps and ends up across the room with a very surprised expression.
10. I kept the windows open today with the AC on (don't want to see the electric bill this month...) so the smell has dissipated. Frankie actually likes it at my parents house, he gets to boss them around and they spoil him. They say he's a bit more subdued than usual - not following them from room to room, but eating and drinking lots. I imagine he feels strange from all the hustle and bustle. I probably won't get him back this week since it's difficult for them to shlep him back and forth, and it's ultimately better not to stress him out. I'll probably be suffering more than him :dry: Stephanie
11. None of Frankie and me, but from a recent trip to Aruba. I don't know how to put it inline, so i uploaded to the album and am linking here... they had tons of parrots at the hotel. There were two greys - an older one which didn't socialize but said lots and lots of things. There was a baby one with some red factor (i decided it was a she). She loved headrubs and really bonded with my boyfriend. I made good friends with the macaws - had them climbing on me by the last few days. Oranges and pineapple from breakfast help you make friends fast Stephanie

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/07/10 13:35
12. 23 here, towards the younger side B)
13. My parents just got him... it'll be lonely here, but at least he'll be safe. thanks for all the advice Stephanie
14. I've opened the windows, the doors, and turned the AC on tops. I still smell it and am concerned. Frankie is in the bathroom acting confused. I live in a studio in downtown NYC... i'm negotiating with my parents (long island, the caretakers last week) to possibly come get him. I can't bring him there since I've got no car and don't believe they like parrots on the subway. Stephanie
15. In my apartment, there was some wood damage... I put in a work order last week when I would be away (frankie was away too), but they didn't come until today. I came home and the apartment smells like some kind of glue... I asked the front desk what it was, but they don't really know. I put him in the bathroom (he is looking at me like i'm nuts), but I don't know if this will suffice. What should I do? What is toxic ? What are the signs that he has had exposure ? He's acting normal and hungry and chirpy... btw i'm new here... happy to see a lively forum... Stephanie
