Now that the season is here for using our Fireplaces, I have concerns. My grey is in my living room and that is where my fireplace is. Is they safe to use with birds in the same area? If you have used your fireplace or have any special things I should be aware of please let me know...thanks Deby

I have been know to scrub off the chunks and then stick them in the Dishwasher too....When I wash them up in the sink I put them in the microwave to get them good and dry....But watch out they are hot after and need to sit and cool for a little while after... Deby

Has anyone ever given a pomegranate to their grey? If so how did they like it and what about the seeds....

Here's one about Bond: When there is to much going on around Bond like the dogs barking outside. She will get on top of her cage and say Shhhhhhh be very quiet...I have no idea where she got this but it is too funny to have a bird tell you to be quiet....:woohoo: :woohoo:

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on Bond and her boarding experiance. She did wonderfully, the store that I boarder her at just loved her and I think she really loved it there too. As for me I missed her a lot and called several times from Germany just make sure she was alright. I was the crazy one and Bond was having a great time....We are both back at home and she really acts like she missed me and I know I missed her...So all is well...

When I'm talking to my Grey and I guess when she gets tired of hearing me she will say "Shhhhhhh, be very quiet".... Makes me laugh every time.

Great ideas. I've always wondered about herbs when I see then in the store. Now I will get some the next time I'm at the store...Thanks again...

I work for a hospital and we have a salad bar and mixed fruit in our Cafetera. I've started buying the fruit in small portions. It's already chopped up and clean so it's much easier for me. It's also a much cheaper way to get Bond her fruit and I don't have a lot of wasted anymore. I've seen salad bars at my local grocrey stores and thought I should try that, now I'm going to...Thanks for the tips...Always learn so much here..

Oh my gosh...I thought it was only my bird that did this...Bond never goes in her cage but goes every 10 minutes when out of her cage....Thanks for letting me know she is just being a good bird....:lol:

I bought a pomegranate, apple and cherry juice mix from our local farmers market. Bond thinks it's the best. And because it is 100% natural it only last about a week in the frig I put it into an icecube tray and give it to Bond frozen. Or sometimes I mix it up into her morning food.

You are both right...It is me that will really be the one who is upset....I know she will be well taken care of and will get to make some new friends. I would take her with me if it was possible...Thanks again for all your support.

This site is so helpful to me. Everyone is so nice and I have learned alot. It's nice knowing that when I have questions I know exactly where to go for help.... I was just wondering if anyone had any options on Boarding my TAG...I know she will get great treatment but I'm worried she will be upset with me leaving her...Any thoughts:unsure:

Congratulation....I know how you feel. It is so much fun having a grey around. I received my grey also from a friend and she is about 7 years old. I've had her for about 8 months now and she is learning new words almost weekly. :P

Hi Dan Here are two pic of a playstand my Mom and I put together...I went online and found a few pictures of ones I liked and then went to work building it. I have to admit my Mom really did most of it. I'm a fairly new owner of a rescued TAG. I've had her since Novemeber 06. I have a question for everyone. Has anyone ever had to board their grey while they are on vacation? I will be on vacation for just over 3 weeks and I will be boarding my grey with a really good place, but I'm worried that she will either forget me or be really upset. She is about 7 years old and lost her first mommy. I'm really worried about leaving her. Does anyone have any ideas or experiences with doing this...Please help me feel better about leaving her....
