ok so what size harness did everyone purchcahse? Do I go with medium or large? It says medium for Timneh grey but congo is a bit bigger. Thats what I had a hard time to determine. Large or medium. I even want to buy roller skates but dont know if I should get medium or large. I mean they are not as big as a Macaw.Helpppp

Tari has a good point. Let your bird calm down first after the move. Maybe then your room mate will change their mind and like to buy a bird instead, infact even go w/ them to a pet shop and look at birds or while they are around go on some funny bird websites while they are around this helped my boyfriend be ok w/ the idea of a bird in the house especially one that will hopefully talk. show them the one on youtube, Marv Breaks It Down.

Having the bird w/ the ferret is like having the bird w/ other pets. Supervise at all times. I had two ferrets different times. None of them jumped like a cat very high or even tried to attack the bird.Not saying they were not looking at the bird like they wanted it for lunch, of course they did. Ferrets act in diffeent ways. Just because Taris or who evers may done it or jumped high doesnt mean all do. Just supervise if you feel more safe the suggestion of placing it in another room where the ferret isnt or do time share you have yours out for awhile and your room mate has theirs out.Take turns.

Well we all know that I chose a Congo. The DNA came out to be a boy. I heard things about Timnehs and Congos but alot of you in the forum do have a congo, you dont have a problem and alot of you say it really depends on the bird and how the bird is rasied. I went w/ that.

I had a ferret and a bird together. Yes ferrets will go after the bird. They are sneaky like a cat. However they cant pounce or jump high or go fast like a cat. Ferrets are pretty cool too. A ferret also goes into a cage unlike a cat that is free to roam all the time. In fact I had a ferret, bird, cat, dog/ collie in one small apt. They got along. I feel as long as there is supervision you will be fine.

Heather, how big is your cage? I think mine is that big but it has the play gym on top.

Welcome to our family Zooky. Glad you have joined us. I will be getting my CAG soon but I've been in this room for couple months now and have learned alot from it. The people in here are very kind and generous w/ their help. It's a family type atmosphere w/ alot of care & understanding of how people feel about their birds/pets and other peoples bird's/pets. Well Judy I gotta say I am smart in my family. However, I have two sons and my younger one is the smartest. He has honor grades and honor classes.A's and barely B's. Hes going to become a lawyer. My first born still doesnt know what he wants to be. In his high school years he got Bs and C's and couple D's. To me it depends on the individual how they learn.

Thankyou for the pointers there CD I can use that. Basically the more socializing he gets the more he'll become a well rounded pet ? Thank goodness he's still a baby. Get him off to a good start then. I was looking into one of the perches that has suction cups and it attaches to car window. The harness thing I want to but so scared if he'll chew the rope or he'll get hung on trying to climb down.I dont have to worry about wild big birds here. I was thinking when I take the dogs for a walk he can go on the other arm w/ a harness on.

Welcome to our bird brain family. You will learn alot here. As for the DNA if you look through some of the threads you will notice that some birds were thought to being one gender and here it was another because their owners were going by.. example, The eyes, the head. Im going w/ Judy no sure way unless its DNA.

I'm almost like Beccy. I am the oldest of 3 half sisters but are not called half sisters on my moms and dad's side. On my biological fathers I do have what is called 3 more half sisters. I'm not close to the other sisters thats why they are my half sisters. No brothers. I ended up having the boys in the family.

Thanx for the congrats....I'm happy.They told me Sept 9th I can. Hes keeping the weight good and starting his food in the morning now.They want to make sure he maintains a certain weight on his own. I bought alot of toys and some I will exchange around so he wont get bored and find out which is his favorite then I can keep that out.

Hello my friends Well Im a proud mommy of a bouncing baby boy. Yeaaaaa !!! Glad that waiting period is over. Now I can finally call HIM by his name which is.....drum roll.I named him Alcazar. I was looking at castles one time. Its a royal palace in Seville, Spain. To me the name sound strong. Now I cant wait til I bring him home.
