He's 3 months he was born May 20th. He is only on a morning handfeeding but they say he also wont eat much of his regular food during the day. I know he's in good hands. Ive been going to this petstore for 23 years and they said they been dealing w/ birds for 30 years. I trust their judgement. If it was someone else I would be frantic. Yea I just want him home but in a healthy state. Thanx all for your support. Happy to find this forum w/ such caring friends.

Sorry to hear about Mende. She should be happy to have a patient, caring mom and someone who loves her. My thoughts are w/ you and hope all goes well. Keep us updated on how she's doing.

Thanx for the info. Im sure that will do it. We dont have those stores you mentioned however we have a Gabrielles though I can look there or even Walmart. Walmart still a cheap store. Thanx again.

Ok update, . I called Wednesday to see how Alcazar is doing. Their saying maybe not until the 15th. Alcazar is still not eating right. He's down 389. He's only taking in 15-25cc. I guess he's suppose to take in at least 55cc for the morning feeding. He's also still not eating his regular food the way he should. I'm going soooooooo crazy, not liking looking at an empty cage. I even go over and play w/ the toys. Dumb I know. haha. Oh well...

I know I want to cover Alcazar's cage at least when the children nap. However his cage is huge I cant find a bird cover that big. grrrrr

Judy Judy I saw that Tropical Trail Mix to I was going to buy it for myself and share w/ Alcazar when he gets here I was wondering if it was ok to feed him. Just wanted to make sure no sugar or anything in it that will harm him. I didnt have time to read the ingredients because at our Walmart they have it in cashier line. Can you please let me know if its ok?

couple questions I asked were... what is the weight, grams. What is the diet its on basically if its seed, pellet what fruits or vegs if any. If its DNA tested. You'll get more questions from other people in here.

Just put a found ad in paper. Say something simple. Found a bird mention the area. Let the person describe what kind and any special markings it might have. If you describe you found a keet you gonna get someone who just wants a bird.

Well Im safe w/ hand washing. I wash my hands about 20 times a day or use the sanitizer. Yea Judy I know what you mean of dog kisses. YUCKK. Bailey doesnt do that but Shanook likes to sneak one to me when I give her a treat. I always tell her....." I told you I dont like that" she just looks at me. Alcazar is on pellet diet which Im happy for that. He was suppose to come home the 8th of Sept but who knows now since he doesnt want to eat well again. He looked well, He did his normal cuddling.

Awww Joe sorry to hear about your daughter. My thoughts and prayers are w/ you. Dont worry about the gyms now. We all understand. Pet store weighed Alcazar today. They told me he's not eating well so they need to keep an eye on his weight. Right now he's at 391 and he's 3 months old .

yea I give Alcazar kisses on his head not on his beak or wings. With me having the daycare we get colds around here and colds start off at least a day before you notice you have one. Plus yea I am afraid of him getting me w/ his beak.

I bought mine from local pet shop. Mine is an from HQ company. It was cheaper at this website www.birdscomfort.com I love my cage very huge, the bars are 1/5 thick. It is for large birds and has a play gym on top.
