All that I know is that avo and choclate is the biggest "NO GO" that i've heard of. Can't go wrong with fuit & veggies.

Hey you. I also used a bent spoon three times a day when she was 3 months old. But it won't be long before the baby will want to eat her formula by herself. Enjoy your new baby.

I hope that by the time you read this that your bird is back already. Just like to let you know that I am praying with you for your bird. God will bring him back, don't worry.

I agree with Monique, my uncle breeds with CAG's, if you put two tame Grey's in a cage, they will only bond with each other, maybe someone else in your household want his/her own CAG, then you can all quack together! :laugh:

Hey Celery, thanks alot for the video where the bird is waving, I tried the same thing with some apple pieces, and after the fifth time, SHE STARTED WAVING!!!!!! Now the little claw is waving alot becuase she now know that when she does that i'll give her something. Its SO cute. THANK YOU!!!

Just want to let you all know that Roxy is A O K! She even started to babble this weekend, trying to say all the things that she's been hearing, all that was needed was prayers. Thanks All!

Last night, when I got home, I put ROxy's veggies in the microwave as usual, while she was sitting on her perch complaining that I'm taking too long. I went outside for 30 seconds to take something nextdoor, and when I got back, she jumped off the cage and onto her old cage, whistling away. Then when I touched her beak, there was a speck of blood on it. I was so worried, and looked everywhere to find the place where she got hurt, but couldn't find the spot. She just went on playing, eating her food and falling asleep on my shoulder. Needless to say, there was no blood or injury anywhere. Then, when it was bedtime, I bent down so she could get into her cage, when she streched she moaned, then I realized that she hurt herself somewhere in her throat, because there was another speck of blood after she complained. This morning I took her to the vet, still playing and eating and whistling. The vet checked everywhere and finally said that it looks like she's got a small sore because of the fall and when she stretches her neck, it opens up again and that causes a little blood to come out. Luckily she said that there is nothing to be worried about, because it will heal itself, she must just not play too ruff. Easy for her to say, I am so worried!!! I cannot even check on her because I am at work. Just thought I must share my sad story with you all. Will let you know how it is going on Monday.

I see you let yours fly around. I bought mine on 3 months with her wings already clipped. But now I am curious. But I am so scared that she will fly away. Will her wings grow back to normal length?

I wanted to call her Powder cause I know someone with a bird called that, but that didn't fit. My mom has a one year old CAG, called Rocky, so, female would be Roxy :-)

Hi all. I was wondering, Roxy started eating vegetables lately, I cook it for her, but the thing is, I don't think it tastes so good. She likes it alot, but I feel sorry for giving her food that has no taste, cant I add a little salt or sugar? Help, plz

What's a typical day like at your house? I get up at 6:00 and if she's awake I take off the covers and talk to her. How often is your bird out of their cage? As soon as I opened the cage and she eats, I leave her on her perch which is on top of her cage for the whole day How often are they put on a playstand? All het toys are on her perch with her food, so she's there from about 7:00 till 20:00 How much time do you spend actually handling your parrot? About 4 hours a day. What's your cleaning routine like? Take out papers everyday 2nd day, wash cage weekends What time do you cover/uncover their cage? At around 21:00 - 22:00 How often do you feed them? Veggies and formula in the morning and fruit and veggies again at night. Dried fruit when I come off work. Do you take them outside, in the car, on vacation etc? When its warm enough she goes outside with me. She goes to Welkom with me every weekend to my fiance, but in her cage, she loves it.

Hey all. My Grey's name is Roxy, she is 4 months and 1 week old today. She goes crazy if I don't give her her formula in the morning and at night. How old must she be before she will start eating other foods? Recently I started mixing her formula with some cooked vegetables, but eats very little of the veggies. Please help?
