1. That's cool looking. Does he or she enjoy it?
2. That's suprising. Sorry to hear , it must get frustrating; But i guess after 10 years you've gotten used to the silence.
3. Have you had him since birth? if not when did you get him. He might be having troubles with the new surroundings if he was from a different place. Mini took a little while to warm up to me, but i just interacted with her a lot. Even though you might not get anything back, it doesn't hurt to keep on talking toh im.
4. Pictures of mini and the cage are up in the photo album if you guys and gals want to take a peak.
5. Does anyone have tricks or solutions to keeping the feathers and dander that your parrot produces at a minimum? When I try to clean it up, it usually fluffs up and then i have to vaccuum and it still fluffs up. All ideas and pointers are welcome! thank you

I just soaked the food in water, and Mini seemed to take it better than when it was hard.
8. yeah, i read the same thing. When i first heard it, i was kind of disgusted(gross noise:P), but soon learned it was nornal.

Post edited by: Laidlaw, at: 2007/04/30 00:34
9. yeah, its nice to read other peoples experiences and compare them with my own. I find it a lot more interesting and fulfilling reading posts from actual grey owners, rather than books and articles from experts.
10. I've owned Mini for about 2 months now, and its been a work in progress. She's been great to have around the house, except for her ruining furniture . I bought her from a man who had owned her since birth, and it was really hard for him to let go of her. I was in lingo on wether or not i was even going to get her. Eventually he realized he had to sell her(new job), and i assured him that she would have a great home. When i brought her home, the first thing she said was "Where's Wally?" (previous pet owners name). It was kind of sad to hear that, becuase she obviously missed him. It took a couple weeks for her to get used to the new surroundings and start talking and interacting with the rest of the people in the house. I'm the only one who she really warmed up to since the move, but i encourage the rest of my family to spend time with her, so that she isn't just attatched to me. Now, she talks, plays, and likes to walk around the house. She LOVES to get the top of her head scratched. She'll sit there with her head down for 5 minutes, just wanting me to scratch her head. This was my first pet, but now that I've experience it, It's pretty much having a baby that you're raising. It's not like a dog or cat or any other bird. Its really neat to watch her interact with her surroundings, and actually say things in context, rather then random spurts of words. I'll take some pictures of her and the cage soon.
