4. Someone sent me an email with the same attachment upon forwarding it to my email friends I was notified there is no such thing as flower parrots.Just another case of trick photography.I was ready to go buy some myself. What a disappointment. It's amazing what people can do these days.
5. I disagree with the above post.I have 5 Greys 2 Timnehs and 3 Congos and a bunch of other birds. They are mostly rehomes, rescued and at one time were kept as single bird.Once they came to live with me and started to interact they started sharing cages. They are still pet quality and I can still handle them and interact with them.I am a stay at home animal mom and haven't had any problems with them. The one Congo that stays in my bedroom with some of my Eclectus once brought downstairs has made friends with the two Congos that share a cage and are my newest additions.I haven't had a problem with my Greys at all. They have come to live with me from 1 month to 2 years.

Post edited by: sashagirl, at: 2007/08/02 20:53
6. Mushrooms are a fungus so it's like feeding them mold. And as stated above mold is no good. Also salt is bad for our birds. In small quantity like once in a while is okay Certain fruits and vegetables with pesticides are no good either they get a build up of it in their system.
7. Wow Harrison is adorable.I wish my 3 greys would talk that much. They are all rehomed and talk but not that much. You must spend a lot of time with him.
8. Mr Spock is right Parrots need a lot of interaction do you really want to get a parrot and then leave it alone for such a long time. They need their time to sleep at least 12 hours a day.And the interaction with people is very important and if they don't have that they can start plucking or other bad habits.
9. Yes your grey is fine for 6 hours alone in cage.I am owned by 18 FIDS 3 are greys. All our birds are caged except for 2 one is a CAG and the other one is a Yellow Nape Amazon. They are in different parts of our house which are bird safe areas(no wires or anything hazardous)I hope everything works out for you.
10. No the dog barking shouldn't scare the bird.If anything they will mimic the dog and discipline the dog.I have 17 of them and if anything they tell them quiet. And bark back at the dogs.BTW I have 5 chihuahuas and a cat and so far I haven't had any problems.
11. You need to do your research and spend some time with both in order to decide.I am owned by both YNA and CAG I am also owned by alot of other birds.Don't take our word for it you should read up on them and then decide.
12. Incense and candles are very harmful to birds they harm their nasal passages.Moddy you need to do some research on the things that are harmful to your birds. You must be new to the bird world. So I don't use incense, aerisol spray or any household cleaners that are toxic to my birds.
