The breeder thinks he will be ready to go at the very end of May or beginning of June. That's a good idea about lowering the perches, thank-you!. I have a few hard surface perches near the food and water bowls but also have a couple of rope perches. I'll lower the ropes down to the bottom of the cage and have them slope up to the food/water perches so he'll never be higher than halfway up the cage until he's stable. I was looking at a 3 month old AG a couple of weeks ago (this adoption fell through) and I visited her every day for a week. She was very wobbly the first couple days but was climbing all over me by the end of the week so I know what you are saying about adjusting the perch heights
I would like to be strong.
Not so strong that I smell bad.
Just strong.
Than I could take care of eliminating all the parrot poachers on the face of the Earth.
Imagine this- there's a zombie invasion and one of the zombies is currently breaking through the door/window of the room you're currently in. You have no time to get to another room. Quick! What object do you grab to defend yourself and how do you use it?
Rule- it must be an item/object that's located in the room you are in as you are reading this.
My answer:
I'm sitting in my office and so there's not a lot to hand in here... however I do have quite a large glass paperweight. I reckon I could do some damage with that if I hit the zombie hard enough!
From the looks of things it looks like you already have the best of everything and that`s the way it should .
Sorry I missed your day. I hope it was the best ever.

What a lovely name! I'm so excited for you! Please keep us updated when you get baby Tiki home. And feel free to ask any questions- the forums contains LOADS of useful information already but there's always people willing to help where they can.
Do you know roughly how long you've got to wait until you bring your baby home?
I would recommend putting the perches quite low in the cage at the start and maybe lining the bottom with something soft like some old towels or linen to begin with. They can be a bit wobbly when they're that young and may sometimes topple off a perch. Once Tiki starts getting more confident in his cage and with perchng securely you can then start to offer some higher places to perch.
Thanks everyone! We’re super excited to get this guy home. He was just taken out of the brooder box and placed in a cage this week. So he’ll start learning how to perch. I’ve got the cage set up with various hard perches and rope perches as well as a heavy duty bird bell. Toys are enroute in the mail. The breeder has been breeding birds for 60+ years and says it’s a male so I’ll take his word for it, but just in case he’s wrong I’m going with a gender neutral name of Tiki. My kids love Disney so he’s named after the Tiki Room animatronic bird show.
Living room. Cushions too soft, lamp won't work -- it might stop mid-throw due to being plugged in (plus cord is sort of tangled with other cords like Alexa/chargers). Tissue box won't help. Maybe the cats will help me???
I guess my heavy stoneware mug is my best weapon in here!
I really need heavier decor items! lol (I have lots of books, but books are too precious to throw!)
