Alfie is his actual name but he gets called Alfred and Alf quite a lot too. Other slightly more sporadic names: Alfie-doodles (which he used to be able to say himself... well, his version was more like "Alfie-Doooo!") Mischief Monster Little Man Bubbah (all the animals get called that at times) I'm sure there are more!2 points

When Corky was younger she also did the scratching thing but now she just likes to destroy stuff.2 points

She’s just a weirdo that likes to bury her head in the darkness when she does it 😂2 points

When my greys were super young, they spent a lot of time digging. They outgrew it over time.2 points

Hi everyone, Maggie here....Amazons are known for being great singers. There are numerous videos of hilarious and precious episodes of Amazons singing specific songs....some quite well and clearly understood.😄 Our Salsa loves to sing....however, repeating original songs is not her thing. She creates her own musical numbers and has one for different occasions. She has a certain song she sings when she is preparing for a nap or bedtime. She has a specific number for times when she is happy. and one for morning revelry and sundown. But, it is her interpretations of different music that we play that brings out her creative bent...depending on the song, she will sing in her own harmony or her standard song that she sings whenever she hears music, whether it is a music channel or movie...LOL....What does YOUR Amazon sing?1 point

I've seen the scratching behavior too and agree that it is foraging/normal behavior.1 point

I call Timber a lot of things. Timber Dale (misbehaving), Timbert, Timberto, baby bird etc. Sometimes I actually call him Timber...1 point

Sorry, been out of pocket with the new job, The whole idea of the modules is to have a collection point. Lets say today Greytness makes a post, uploads a video into that post. People see that post, and go, oh that is so cool, now fast forward a year, post is buried, video is buried. With the module, you can watch videos all in one place at any time BESIDES in just a post. AND you can use it to post your video to anywhere, an email to a friend, facebook (God forbid) or any where else, and its there in one place all the time without digging through posts of years gone by. Im trying to find the time to do a how to, but it works, and you cant hurt it, so try it, experiment with it, it works.......1 point

Our amazon does the same thing that Salsa does. She makes up delightful songs that bring smiles to our faces. If we have music on or are singing, she'll join in.1 point

For a person who knows nothing how is it that you can handle Nilah and no one else can !!??, MOM1 point

Well I guess the good news is Nilah is 9 years old.....so I will be looking forward to year 12....! And she is no doubt bonded to me..which I am fine with...I just feel bad for Talon especially who is kinda on her own cause NIlah is the boss of me 😎1 point

Yes, I am the confident one that keeps the upper hand. I can usually calm her when I start singing to her.....She does actually have her "act" on my shoulder where she actually demonstrates having an amazon orgasm 😱 i(didn't know there was such a thing, but there is with her) Then she goes on her merry way.. I don't have any willing volunteers who will work with me on re-socializing her...so I just have to deal with it. One of the girlfriends is very meek & low confidence... and Nilah can sense that...so she spends no time in my house other than my sons room, when she passes thru, I take Nilah in the bathroom with me & we wait it out there.. The other girlfriend IS self confident, not afraid of her, has tried to offer her snacks over the years etc, Sometimes NIlah is fine with her...mostly in the fall & winter...but spring is a different story. The only weapon of terror we have against Nilah is Zoob-tube that she is fearful of..so my sons girlfriend just carries it around with her everywhere when shes here. Only in the spring will Nilah fly at her, but my son tries to shoo her way...it gets a bit stressful in the house when he brings her home...but only in the spring.... Most importantly...NO-ONE is willing to help the situation in my house cause MOM knows NOTHING...😜1 point

Ok Penny I will try this again. Forgot to submit the first one. When they first come into season for the first time and their pubic feathers pop out they can be very difficult for a number of years, When they get too about 12 years old they start to mellow a little and get better with years. Amazons can be and very often are one person parrots. One thing I believe that when it comes to resocialization of a amazon it should be done with a group of people who will take an active part with their socializing. Also a group that can display self confidence. Amazons seam to respect self confidence in a human. If you are afraid a amazon will bite, They will bite !! If you try to bully a Amazon. They will retaliate !! Meet your Amazon on equal ground and display lots self confidence. Also talk in a soft sweet voice, Cricket loved that Just remember Amazons will from time to time display some aggression most of the time when they are in season. If you show fear than you lost the race. If you try to bully you will lose the race. These are lessons from Cricket. I miss her so much.1 point

Hearing stories about Amazons always left me with the feeling that maybe some were a little exaggerated or extreme🙄🙄…until we came home with our Salsa. From the time she gets up in the morning until bedtime, it is almost like living with a multiple personality disorder on steroids and caffeine…Hahaha… In the morning, she will be sleeping soundly until she hears Joe doing his nails on a chalkboard rendition by running his beak back and forth on the bars to wake me up. Then, she starts with the whining which gets progressively louder until I open her cage. Then, she greets the day and the neighborhood with her pterodactyl impression… (Oh boy!)😁😁 She steals Joe’s apples and pistachios (which drives Joe crazy because he then cannot eat until everything is replaced and untouched). 😝Then, she bugs me until she gets her toast. One minute, she will be singing songs of her own at the top of her lungs and the next moment, she will be sobbing her heart out or screaming how “Salsa is a good girl!” She will be laughing manically and then fly over to bite Jay before flying off. 😈😈She flies to me and plays by hanging off my hands and mock-attacks and then turn around, flying over and hide in her cage for a few minutes. When I have my asthma attack and am coughing, she joins in with a chorus of sympathetic wheezing and coughing, goes into hysterical laughing and then begins crying as if her heart is broken. She greets dusk with her pterodactyl routine again and channels her inner Greek by tossing her plates after she finishes. She may be manic, but she is ALWAYS entertaining! Maggie1 point

I've always liked that dino-parrot poster too. Every morning after her breakfast, GreycieMae has to do her pterrordactyl runs back and forth across the aviary. It usually sounds like there's a massive fight going on in there but it's just her getting her dinosaur out to play. 🤣1 point

Yes, great video! Also enjoyed the "prehistoric" pic. Hubby always tells Timber "your great great great great grandpa was a velociraptor."1 point
