  1. Hello everyone!! my baby grey is 9 months old now, and I’ve noticed that he’s had a couple droppings that resemble diarrhea, and one today had a bubble in it. Majority of his droppings are normal! And i have read and re read all the poopology charts etc. But can certain foods be causing this?! His weight hasn’t changed, he talks up a storm and still himself otherwise.

  2. GreycieMae is ready for the severe cold weather and she's also not butt hurt over a 50 year old song 🤣 Interesting note: I posted this photo under the caption "Baby it's cold outside" on the FB group 'African Grey Parrot Club' and was swiftly silenced and the post removed. Prior to that some guy commented that I was being cruel and I swiftly told him he was an expletive moron since GreycieMae loves to have wrestle matches either in this very hat or a blanket. She loves being wrapped in it and play peek-a-boos. So I thought either my little entanglement with this idiot or the caption got me booted. It turns out I ran afowl of their rule against posting photos of birds in clothes. Bwaaahaahaahaahaa

  3. I'm sure some people get offended just for the sake of getting offended. I think it's a brilliant photo! Looks like she has her own little winter coat!

  4. LOL she looking distressed alright. That's one reason I don't belong to most of the facebook groups. I left drama in junior high where it belongs and refuse to participate now.

  5. You have got to be kidding. Quite frankly, those FB groups can be brutal. The other FB group that we're both members of is a bit tamer, but there's still a few rebel rousers in that group. At least those members get booted for more valid reasons. This pic of GreycieMae is pretty cute though!

  10. That last pic: "someone is gonna pay when I get out of dis". Ollie, I can't wait to see pics when you are all better and kicking some tail with that leg of yours.

  11. Not sure. I'd think that fresh fruits and veggies would cause that over seeds if anything.

  12. Just an update : Ollie had his first checkup and bandage change. Here's today's pics! The cone of shame which he manages to chew has to be replaced weekly.. $35 for one.. 🙄

  13. Can seeds cause a softer poop? I’ve noticed after his nutriberry treats he has softer droppings!

  15. It might likely be the diet adjustments. How are his poops today?

  16. Yeah it was the first day, and I’ve been kind of playing around with different fruits & veggies to see if I can find something he actually likes!!

  18. Ollie is being a good sport with his collar of shame but there is no shame and soon it will be a thing of the past, get better quickly.

  20. Poor Ollie! It is so sad to see them just sitting there when they are usually so active. The good news is it will pass! When Timber was at his lowest point healthwise, it was heart wrenching to see him huddled on the towel in the floor of the hospital cage. The recovery is worth the downtime, though Ollie might not agree with the cone of shame

  21. Here’s a video of Ollie. He is expressing his distaste at the thought of putting the cone of shame back on him after a couple of minutes of relief! AD816E9F-C6C8-4149-97F3-61DA3B2F5722.mp4

  22. Healing can take time but he is one special bird and so fortunate to be in your family.

  23. This is heart wrenching. Ollie is strong and resilient. He is very intelligent and will adapt to his recovery. I am so sorry for all of you going through this with him. You have done a great job adapting his environment for his best recovery. He is a handsome boy and in good hands.

  24. Oh no, poor sweet thing. I just want to go over there and cuddle the heck out of him. Hope he heals quickly and that he's back to being his old self very soon.

  25. Here is Ollie’s modified cage. The woos is covered with soft towels and soft perches arranged for him to rest against. I baby sat him today, he just s sits and rests his beak on the perch. I fed him apple and brought his water bowl over for him to drink. He’s very quiet abs sleeps a lot...probably the meds...

  29. I know. I'm concerned, too. Since Thanksgiving she'd drop in a day here or there, but as of late she hasn't been online at all.
