I believe it is a Pride of Barbados. I was hoping it could stay because it would really appreciate the warmer enclosure during the winter and wouldn't die back to the ground every year. I've seen pics where they start to look like small trees. SHooot. I need to find some safe jungle style plants for GreycieMae to sit in and proclaim herself Queen of the African savannah sunroom.2 points

If the one near the wall is a Rose that is a safe plant not certain if the other is Pride of Barbados the seeds are toxic a form of hydrocyanic acid and the pods containing the seeds are heavy in tannins.2 points

Like Acappella said, I can't believe how fast you are getting it done! Looks great.2 points

GreyForums has very little traffic as the 4 or 5 of us know. I'm also on Avian Avenue and rarely post because there's too many there. So today, I was perusing the 'African Grey Parrots' group on FB as I do the 15 or so bird groups I'm subscribed too and came across this posting which I felt compelled to reply to. Check out my conversation which got me banned. Pictured is a thread off the main topic where 'Joshua' got his little feelings hurt because he decided to tie one on with a far-right leaning individual and lost. However Joshua is in good with the mods so of course cronyism is in play here. I took him to task for his liberal misuse of the term snowflake...and got myself banned. oh...I'm the dude with the cute little Caique as an avatar1 point

Greetings! Spock here typing for Jayd.... As some of you may recall, our oldest son passed away a few years ago and we keep his urn on the end of the long L-shaped bar that separates the living room from the kitchen next to the wall. It is a plain, unassuming grey marble urn a little over a foot in diameter. Quite a few times, unexpectedly, and never knowing when, Joe, our Grey, will fly over toward the urn and land about three feet away. He bends forward with his head turned to the right (Like he is bowing) and walks sideways while talking to Jayson "Hello, How are you?, Give me a kiss..." When he reaches Jayson, he touches his beak to the urn while making kissing sounds and asks him "How are you?" The last time that he did this, he did something unusual...he mumbled something to him, paused, cocked his head, and answered "Okay". Then he said, "Gotta go now...okay. See you later. I love you". When he backed up approximately three feet away, he gave him another kiss, said "Bye-bye" and flew away...like nothing happened... Only you can interpret this as you see fit...we take some comfort every time this happens....Grey cognition is amazing! In some of your research and study into Greys, a number of references can be found regarding telepathy... P.S. this has been re-written three times due to tears...LOL1 point

I am certain that was a set up and Korra is innocent, look at that face. "Who me? not!"1 point

Maggie/Spock here...The other day, I made Jay his favorite tofu scramble with spinach, mushrooms, finely chopped celery and carrots, and finely chopped tofu and since I was running behind, I fed our fids some of this too for their hot meal with brown rice on the side. Joe was so excited and dived into his plate and took a big bite, lifted his head with his mouth wide open, let the food fall out of his mouth, shook his head to get rid of the rest of the food, reared his head back and looked at me as if saying "What the HELL was that????".... Then he flew away and turned his back to me...ROLOL...I tried to make peace by offering him some scrambled egg but he just gave me the evil eye...I wasn't going to fool HIM twice!1 point

Not sure I'm in good enough with the mods to get you banned I hardly ever comment in that group, I usually just look at Greybies and watch videos, mainly gawking at all the fabulous talkers while mine sits here mute as a brick (grrrr...). I didn't see what started Joshua's rant (which is not shown in my pic) but seeing what happened to me, maybe the other guy wasn't such an ass after all. I'm guessing ol Joshy can't seem to take what he dishes out so he runs to the mods and whines. I was really surprised I got the boot from those two comments.1 point

Wouldn't you just know he would be a stinker when you have someone else in the house? Actually it sounds like he has released some old baggage and is settling in just fine with you after all these years together. I love that he is becoming more confident although it is more challenging for you. On Murphchick's post I saw that you struggle with bipolar and I for one am so grateful for that 5 percent that keeps you going when things are dark. I will never forget the comfort of hearing your voice as you sang the words "just breathe" after I lost Juno. It may seem sometimes that you are alone, but the fact is you send ripples of encouragement and gentle spirit of goodness out and it makes a difference in the lives of others. I do understand about being alone, being in pain and its a hard road, with no easy answers. I would love for a new development to allow you to be carefree, full of the best life has to offer and with no pain. I have no doubt Dorian loves you just the way you are. I feel that way about my friends too.1 point

First I put "ha-ha" as a reaction, then reconsidered. I didn't want to hurt your feelings and get banned... Seriously though, people are just too sensitive and easily offended these days. I am sorry you were banned if you enjoyed the page, but you weren't rude or obnoxious.1 point

Not sure if the plants currently there are even safe to be around birds. I hate to remove them as one is planted above our beloved Raven that we lost four years ago and the other is planted above Pickles, the bird my daughter lost. We may have to find something else to plant above our lost babies. It is what love looks like. I've been hanging on looking for something special to spend it on and it just dropped in our lap. Imagine a car would probably have lost half the value already on it's way to valueless.1 point

There may be something to it. These birds, and animals in general, may be more connected other realms more than we allow ourselves. Always something to think about.1 point

So very true! Exceptionally relatable and hilarious for all types of parrots! When I thought about getting Korra (African grey) I thought to myself, "I'm buying a permanent toddler..." *SORRY the picture is so big1 point

Jocelyn.... Its always a good thing, to make sure you are prepared for a grey. We are all just joking around, talking about our little devils! You are hearing the worst... not the best! Sophie is 12 now, doesn't destroy anything in the house, unless I give it to her.( and thats with open door policy!) Sure, she LOVES my purse, and I tend to go thru purses like crazy. She is obscessed with zippers! Sure she likes to get out my lipstick and throw it down to Zoey my pup who LOVES lipstick! " Here you go Zoey!" I come running! LOL I just give Sophie my hand-me-down purse, close the zipper, leave a surprise inside. She is thrilled! They are just like children. You child proof as best as you can. Sophie is such a joy! I wouldn't trade a moment of listening to her try to repeat a song , calling for her ROM ( mom), giggling like crazy, the list goes on and on! Nancy1 point
