Thanks for this post Tyco's Mom. It re-enforces something I've been thinking about alot. I pick up my baby grey in mid-November and since I'm retired and therefore have oodles of free time, I've been toying with the idea of having my new grey forage for the majority of its food. In that respect, I have purchased lots of foraging toys. What is the opinion of our experienced grey owners? Is this a good idea as long as at the end of the day, alot of food is available in the food bowls?
Hi Marianna, welcome to the flock. Since George was 6 years old when she came to live with you, can you tell us the story behind her arrival? It is always interesting to learn how everyone came together with their grey. On a personal note, I find Greece to be such a beautiful and fascinating country, one I hope to visit some day. Can't wait to see more pictures of George.
Welcome to the flock. I like your Avatar and the picture of Froot Noodles. I won't be getting my Tag until mid-November (doh: 08/15/08) so I can certainly relate to the long wait. I've been hanging around here learning all I can and sticking my 2 cents in. lol. Can't wait to hear more about your new baby and see more pics. Have fun, I am!!:cheer:
I've been milling around several names for my new Tag when I get him. But I haven't settled on one because I don't know my new friend yet. I'm sure the previous owners had a good reason for naming the Amazon Bubba. In my opinion unless it says, "Hi, my name is Bubba." You should pick a name that you are comfortable with and fits your new friend's personality as you see it. Good Luck on getting your new friend.
Congratulations Fred. I'm jealous, I don't get my grey baby until mid-November. Is your grey a Congo or a Timneh. The Congo has a black beak the Timneh a bone color beak. My grey is a Timneh, the smaller grey. I just love this site it has been very helpful in gathering all the things needed before my gray can come home. Well the 16th is just days away, can't wait to see your pictures of your new addition.:cheer: :silly:
Hi there. I like the pictures you have in your profile. Dusty is a lovely grey. From the picture in your intro, looks like Dusty loves the sea. Can't wait to hear more from you, Sylvia and Dusty.
Empathy is the key to this question. If you haven't experienced this kind of connection it is hard for some to accept it. A kind of gift and curse thing. I find this very interesting.:cheer:
You were smart to explain this photo. As an ex-two packer a day (almost 30 years now) I can appreciate this shot and I can see why it got you an A. It shows without words the point of the assignment. Your professor probably saw it that way also. Thanks for sharing.:cheer:
Hey Bonnie, like Pogo's pictures. Pogo's cage looks like it has the same set up as my TAG's. I like the acrobatics he has going on there.:silly: :cheer:
That's great news about your grey. Is it a Congo (black beak) or Timneh (bone beak). I'll be getting my Timneh, the smaller of the two greys around November 15th. I have learned alot from this knowlegeable and friendly forum family. Have fun looking around and ask any questions you have. Will be looking forward to seeing pictures of you and your grey.
Both are great names. I would go with your son's name of Echo for the simple reason that if he is young, he will feel closer to the grey because he got to pick the name, and greys do live a long time. Good luck on your choice.
Thanks for the help dhorje. I really appreciate your input Tracy. I guess I'm really showing my lack of knowledge concerning greys. Still have so much to learn. Thanks!!
