My daughters are 10 and 6. We have a freind that has a love bird and my kids do not put the bird down. I definately want a bird they can handle and that is not too big.

We are considering getting a love bird for our daughter, but are unsure if we should because we have a two year old dachshund who is quite active and attached to us. What do you recommend?
