leonidas93
hi guys, my 1 year old grey has always been very trusting of me and has let me pick him up and put my hand on his back to take him across the room or put him back in his cage but all of a sudden he will only let me pick him up and will fly away when i put my hand around him. i dont have a clue what is wrong with him and dont know why he does not trust me anymore. does anyone have any advice that will help me? thanks in advance. judygram
He is becoming more independent now and wants to make his own decisions and he has decided to take charge of how and how much he will allow you to handle him, there is nothing wrong with him, he is gradually growing up so to speak. Greys will do things in stages and they go thru changes as they mature and this does not mean he doesn't trust you any more, he has a mind of his own and you have to respect that of him. Just like some greys like to cuddle when very young they get over it and don't want to be babied anymore. Hope this helps you to understand that all is normal. Luvparrots
leonidas, your baby is growing up! Congratulations to you for being such a loving parront so that your grey can grow to an independent and confident grey. It's hard to see them grow up but like our children, we are so proud of them but must adjust to their maturity.
