Dula Wood (bleached)?

Good evening all!

 

I was in Michael's Crafts and found some wood that I thought I might be able to make a stand. Is Dula even a wood and if so is it safe? The other thing I am unsure about is that the label said "bleached" - Dula Stick Bleached. I didn't buy it. I want to be sure it is safe before I do. What do you guys think? Here are a couple pictures.
