Yes you have to do something to keep that beak off of the wire, don't want well done grey. I will have to decide whether I want the one that goes down on top of the cage or hanging above it. Josey's cage is not flat on top so one hanging might be better.:cheer:

Congratulations Judy who has made 700 posts in under 2 months!! {Communicate-000200D5}

I had one that was attached to the wall that hung close to the cage. It was well protected with plastic (I thought) over the wires. Talon would climb onto the light and chewed right thru the plastic and even cut some wires with her beak. I'm very surprised nothing happened to her. Needless to say, I threw the light away and bought a different one.

hmm.. i think i will have to get one.. so here's the next bit, where do i get them? im in the uk remember, and i have no idea what im looking for, also brian spends most of his day on his playstand so would it make more sense to point it at that instead of on his cage?

I have full spectrum lights on my three. At the suggestion of my vet I tried them. Gemini was beginning to pluck. Once I started using the lights he stopped. My vet recommended around eight hours a day. They are on a timer from 8am to 4 pm. I got my lights from Home Depot.
