Kaedyn
I was making my typical Harrison's run at the vet when I walked in on a mother and her daughter picking up their pet amazon. As injured birds do, she tried to put on a healthy appearance, but I noticed she had a large collar around her neck. So, being ever curious, I asked them what she was in for and they said she was attacked by a raccoon while playing in her aviary. It just reached into the cage and kept swinging for her until it "took a chunk out of her neck". I dread anything like that ever happening to one of my crew and I hate to see it happen to any of them. She's one very lucky bird to have even survived. danmcq
Wow, that is a scary incident. If you live where critters like that coon are, avairies are best built with stainless mesh. Thanks for sharing this. :-)
