tthopp05
Hello I was wondering if I could use a cage with 1-3/4 bar spacing for a Congo.Any help would be great. Thanks,Tom
judygram
No that would be too wide a spacing, a grey could get it's head caught, usually 1 inch is the maximum width, that wide a spacing sounds more like a macaw sized cage.
danmcq
Judy is spot on. I personally would go with 3/4 inch bar spacing. I do not want my Grey to be able to get his head outside the bars at all. Dogs might just lop it off for him. ;-)
judygram
I agree Dan for it may be possible for a small Tag to get their head caught in 1 inch bar spacing but usually they recommend nothing wider than 1 inch.
tthopp05
Thank you,I guess Im on the hunt for a new cage. Its a shame because I have a brand new power coated kennel (5*5*5) that I wanted to set up for her but the bar spacing is 1 3/4.Her bed cage is 24*22*40 and is ok for now because she is only 12 weeks old,but I want something much bigger for day use when Im not home. Ill keep you posted,Thanks again,Tom
myafricanqueen
THATS TOO BAD... that cage sounds like it would have been great aside from the bar spacing being too big.
