judygram
Hello Jaqfash and welcome to our family, we are so pleased you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey. Pat and Caitlin have provided some helpful info and links to to help you with this unweaned baby but you should not have purchased an unweaned baby especially ifyou have no experience with it, so much can go wrong. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads as you are already finding out so continue to read them and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Welove pictures here and especially of baby greys so if you have some you would share with us we would appreciate it very much.
jaqfash
Hi, Thanks for the helpfull info.... Only after I bought "Spokie" I learned that they must be weaned. Show you how much the pet shops in South africa knows. I feed him with a syringe, 6 times a day and most of the times he eats 15ml only, then you can see he doesn't want any more. He looks healthy, he is starting to stand up straight without falling over, he is stretching his legs and wings, Sometimes you can see he is trying to preen himself. I've got him for 4 days now and already he is eating more than day one. I hope it is sufficient, but you can feel his crop is full, it doesn't buldge just nicely round. I'm so glad I got to this website because I already feel part of the family, all you people is so nice and helpfull. Thank Pat, Caitlin and Judygram for all the links and info. I will definately put a picture up soon. Thanks again, and have I known I would not have bought a 5 week old baby. but it came very unexpected. But beleive me I will be very carefull and give him all the love and attention I can... he comes to work with me every day not a minute out of my sight, so addorable. jaqfash
Hi I must agree very nice forum.... I got some good tips here. I must say at first I thought I was doing everything totaly wrong, but it seems I'm doing ok. I would like to have the number of the avian vet in Krugersdorp as I stay in Magaliesburg and I'm sure he would be the closest. I must say it looks as if Spokie is starting to eat more, think I must also only feed him 3 times a day then he will eat more at a time. How old is Boesman now?
