Rox565
I am looking into purchasing a new friend. I am also doing all kinds of research. I want to know everything about these awsome critters. I have two parakeets for now. I am looking to find a breeder in WA so I can get a young bird and be sure to expose it to my family. My daughter, my boyfriend and our three boxers. Don't worry I won't let them in the same room unsupervised. My dogs will get used to our new addition and will be left alone once they realize it is not a new toy. Does anyone know of any breeders that are reasonably priced, but with a good reputation for care?

CeasarsDad
Welcome to the family. We LOVE new members so that means you love you.. Regarding the breeders question you asked.. That's a tough one.. You might want to do a search on the net and see what comes up.. Then you can research the breeders that do come up and narrow it down from there.. Let us know what you get a baby.. We LOVE photos here..
Guest Monique
Welcome to the forum!! The breeders I've used don't have any Greys right now. Researching on the Internet is your best bet.
Rox565
Thank you all. I have been looking on the web and found a few breeders, but like you said, they don't have any available right now. Is $850-$950 about the right price range? How do I check out a place called Ruffled Feathers Aviary It looks like a good site but I know little about purchasing from someone online. I know to be careful about scams, just not sure how to check it out.
Talon
Welcome, and all the above advice is great! We found Talon from a breeder online, and had her flown to us. It can be done with no problems, but just do your homework and be careful. :cheer: Good Luck to you, and keep us posted!

CAGguy
Where at in WA? You might want to check out www.parrots.com.They are in Oregon, but Janet is great! I am getting my grey from her and I currently live in NY.It is $900 for a grey.$30 for DNA sexing and $150 shipping. She ships Alaska Air or Delta. So Shipping would probably be to Sea/Tac airport.I believe her place(wool-n-wings) is outside of Portland. She weens all the birds before they leave her care.Check out the site if you are interested. It is worth the look! Rox565
Sad news! I can't get a AG for a little while longer. I took my Boxer to the vet and he cost me a bunch of money to try and save him. I wanted to save him so bad but I couldn't see him in pain. I did what we thought was best for my boy, I had the vet put him to rest. He had a large growth in the inside of his tummy that was causing him alot of pain. Enough sadness, I hope to get a AG soon.

Guest
Rox565 that's terrible, I know (since I have put to rest my former dog as well many years ago and I still feel terribly sad when remembering ) Hang in there, it hurts for you but your buddy is at rest now, and without pain
Talon
So sorry to hear of your recent loss. We had to put our dog to rest 1 year ago, and it is still very sad. Hope you are able to get your grey soon. Please keep us posted.

Guest
You will miss him forever But logic (knowing that it was best for him) will soften the hard edges.
