Joolesgreyuk
Does anyone know if there are any differences in the behaviour between these AG's? Is one a better talker than the other or one more prone to illnesses or behavioural problems? Also does anyone on here have both and prefer one to the other? I have to say that before I found this forum I thought that the congo was the AG because this is the only type widely available in the UK.
judygram
In my opinion the only real differences in the Cags versus Tags are the outside appearances, Tags are smaller, have a bone colored beak and a maroon tail, whereas the Cags are larger, have a black beak and a bright red tail. Maybe there are more subtle differences in personality but not much, maybe some of the more knowledgeable members will chime in with their two cents worth. I prefer my Cag but then if I had gotten a Tag then I would probably prefer it but the Cag was more readily available when I was looking.
Tycos_mom
I think the Timmnah is less likely to pluck than the Congo the Timnah is also smaller. AS far as taling ability or intelligence I don't think there is any difference. It really depends on what you prefer if you want a smaller bird or a bigger bird. SamsDad
I owned a Timneh for 20 years and now own a Congo - although just for 2 weeks. So far the two seem VERY similar. I was curious to see how the two types compared and its been pretty amazing so far. My Congo is just a bigger - and louder - version of my Timneh. I'm sure others out there might have more experience with both birds. Tom
