Jgo1973 Posted April 21, 2009 Share Posted April 21, 2009 I am new to this site...and to African Grey Parenthood. We have recently (10 days ago) adopted a 3 year old African Grey named Meko. We are his third (and final) home. He seemed to take to our family right away, stepping up, speaking, etc... (few words) He started testing me with his beak - but I got some great tips from this site, so no more biting. He seems to like my husband but talks more when he's not around (not sure what that is about). We also are the proud parents of a 7 month old quaker parrot, a black lab, yellow lab, cat, 100 gallon saltwater fish tank, 12 gallon nano reef, two Japanese water dragons, and 2 budgies. Oh yeah - and two teenage daughters lol. Other interest include cooking,entertaining and photography. We have done a lot of research, however - any advice, tips, etc... is GREATLY APPRECIATED. You do have a fine looking grey, it looks very healthy and full feathered, someone took very good care of this bird before you came to get it. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
