Helping a Grey Accept A New Appearance

I may be getting way ahead of myself,but after years of wearing contacts I'm going to have to switch to reading glasses. Gilbert has only ever seen my with contacts.

What are the best ways to help him adjust to my new appearance?

I would take it slow as it may freak him out and it may not. I wear reading glasses and Josey is always trying to chew on them if I am wearing them but most of the time I am not wearing them and she is used to them now. If you have been allowing Gilbert on your shoulder then you may have to be careful of when you are wearing the glasses. Its funny how small simple little things like that can make them so fearful.

 

I had on some fingernail polish one day, I don't normally wear it and Josey freaked out when she saw it, I had to go take it off before she would let me handle her.

get ready for him to be biting them a lot lol. willis discovered my glasses and i can't seem to get him to stop trying to get them now

Kookie is ok with me, with or without glasses, but whenever hes so close, he always reaches for them with his beak..

Also he doesnt like me when Im wearing sunglasses...

I am lucky enough not to need glasses but If I have sun glasses on Charlie is fine.
