This is a good question, Joe. I know I have heard fish is fine, but I'd be curious to hear more discussion about specific types. I wonder, for instance, if the higher-on-the-food-chain fish (like tuna) would be a concern because of mercury etc.

My birds haven't shown much interest in fish anyway, until a few days ago when I shared my snack with them: consisting of dried anchovies cured in chili peppers and sugar. I get these at the local Asian market, and turns out both birds really liked them (they both like crunchy things much better than soft foods). I didn't give them many because of the sugar, but it was fun to see them actually get quite enthused about fish! They're both molting, so I know they need extra protein right now...

Salmon is a huge hit, and fresh Tuna. But only a little Tuna b/c of the mercury, like LindaMary said. We have salmon every couple of weeks and she has it with us. {Feel-good-00020114}

I have fed my birds a little fish but never salmon or tuna as we hardly ever have it ourselves but it is nice to know we can share some if we do have it, thanks MrsB for that information.

Both my previous Grey who died in Feb. and my new baby Grey seem to like Salmon a lot. Ruben loved it and Ganesha is just starting to try new foods. When I adopted him he was only on a pellet diet and I have started to introduce lots of new and interesting things to him. He loves fresh steamed artichoke as did Ruben before him. She had figured out how to scrape the meat off the leaf just like a person. I did try some fresh tuna steak with Ganesha and he seemed to like it okay but much prefers veggies and nuts to meat, although steak was a huge hit the first time he tried it. He does like chicken but I feel like it is a bit cannibalistic to feed it to him...:-)
