Tycos_mom
I feel very angry also when I read about this and your breeder not doing a darn thing about it I know your just happy that he is going to be okay and thats what counts but she should be esponsible for some or all of that vet bill after all she sold you a sick bird you should by every right be intitaled to a healthy bird thats what you paid for. I would email her and just sujest this to herand see if she might even fork over some of the vet costs at least half. You could probubly take her to court and get the cost of the bird and the vet cost if you wanted too and I would mention this and tell her that you think 1/2 the Vet cost would be the least she could do. CarolandFamily
I totally agree with Pat! Gorgass don't let her get away with that! Tell her that you have a lawyer looking into the case here in the States they call it Lemon laws im not sure where you are at but google it. I was telling my breeder last night and she said if they gave you some sort of warranty that they should either help PAY for those bills, give you another baby or make an appt with there Avian vet. She have to known something was wrong with him  and sold you a sick baby ugggh. I am glad that he is playing and makinghis baby nosies but still she has to be held responsible. I would call her too.
GorgASS
just thought i'd follow-up on how my little guy's doing now...he's GREYT!! he's done a complete turn-around since i got him. when i first brought him home, all he did all day long was cry (like the hunger cry) it was driving me crazy. as bad as it makes me feel saying this...i thought to myself what did i get myself into? if this is what having a baby grey is all about maybe i made a mistake. (boy was i wrong) since he started his meds. he has completely changed! he squacks, runs around, pokes at everything (so curious), plays with toys, makes all these cute little noises...oh i'm in heaven!! i can't even begin to explain how much joy this little guy has brought me...i'm sure everyone here knows what i mean. and carolandfamily: i still haven't heard anything from my breeder! i emailed her a few days ago asking if she would send me a new hatch cert. with his sex on it (she said she would) and also updated her with how he was doing so much better since he started the meds, asked some ?'s about weaning, etc. said nothing mean or about the bills...nothing but nice friendly things...still no response!! i can't say i'm surprised but what kind of a breeder acts like this!! i'm just glad i got him when i did...he's such a sweet little guy! i don't want to even think about what would of happened if i would of left him there! Eckobird
Thats great news that your baby is doing good! Thanks for the update. I can't believe your breeder is acting so immature! That is so rude.

judygram
I'm glad your baby is perking up and being more like a healthy grey, I hope he gets a clean bill of health soon but please keep us updated on his progress. Your breeder is one who gives the other breeders a bad name, needless to say you won't be going back there.
CarolandFamily
OMG That's horrible about her still not responding! If she lived nearby I would have paid her a visit  J/k. I am glad that you lil one is doing great BUT she should take on the responsibilty since she helped bring him into the world. I showed my breeder this post and she was infuriated to say the least. She was so mad that she couldn't even talk about it when I brought it up. I guess there are some awesome breeders who are passionate not only about there babies but about what's right and wrong. They are the ones who keep you updated, let you know all about the babies are they are growing BUT most importanly STAND behind healthy and happy babies because they truly love them. Then there are the other ones like your breeder who has the face of shame, and the one we almost had who was ONLY in it for the money! I know that it is a business BUT stand behind what you helped PRODUCED! Everyone here gave you wonderful advice Judy said it best" It gives other breeders a BAD name" I hope she sends you his dna tests and the other paperwork that she promised * shaking my head*
Azzie
Is there like a breeders forum or register you can forward this incident to? Just to alert other people to stay away from this person.
