CarolandFamily
Thanks David and Lovethatgrey for the advice and tips. Everytime I buy things I have to esearch it to make sure that this will be great for our baby. I been searching and finding all the information that I can on it and everyone loves them! Thank You Lovethatgrey for recommending this to me. I am also going to buy the Aviator Harness too to round out the whole traveling experience
lovethatgrey
David, It's a great cage. You did a wonderful thing to purchase it for your Shanti. I do not wish to discourage you or put doubts in your mind about your purchase. I just felt obligated to share my experience and give you the heads up for something that could eventually happen. Believe my .. I take very good care of ALL of my belongings. I felt pretty bummed out when this happened and felt like they could have done a better job but it was ok my parrots had had a great summer in it and I decided to take matters into my own hand to make it a better product. DavidH
No, I'm not discouraged. On the contrary, I can't wait to get the Adventure Pack. Worse comes to worst, I'll make some adjustments on the backpack cover like you did. The reason I didn't buy it sooner (besides the price tag) is that I was worried Shanti might reject it. He was very timid about everything the first couple of months, but his confidence and curiosity are growing by the day, so now I'm sure he's going to love it too. Thanks for all your help!<br><br>Post edited by: DavidH, at: 2009/03/30 01:
CarolandFamily
Dave I opted to get a travel cage that was collapsable as well as the Aviator Harness. I want it but I am going to wait and I keep forgetting we don't have alot of room for my ever expanding bird stuff lol. Let me know how you like it! Sallas
Here is my travel cage, it is not a backpack style, but I love it. It comes in a few colors also. https://www.kingscages.com/cages/aluminum-cages/aluminum-travel-cages/small-aluminum-travel-cage-satin-silver/prod_697.html

judygram
That is a nice travel cage but a little pricey and heavier than other travel cages but it might hold up longer than other lightweight ones so in the long run it may be a better buy. I have seen this one before and have considered getting it but the price is what is holding me back at the moment. Eric maybe hauling around 15+ pound cage is easy for you but some of us women find that a little heavy to be lugging around everywhere.

CarolandFamily
Lol@Judy I bought the folded travel cage like you bought, I got it at Windycity parrot they had free shipping and I had a 6 dollar discount so I bought that one lol. Well just cover our baby up when it gets too hot outside.
Luvparrots
I also have a travel cage like Judy's (thank you Judy). I use it as a cage for Ana Grey when she is in the living room and I need to cage her quickly; it sits on my living room endtable. It will also serve as the perfect emergency cage for Ana Grey to stay in on overnights as it is big enough for her to be comfortable in for a few daylight hours or to sleep in at night at my daughters' or son's home. We are working on the harness for any outside time and I have a soft-side backpack type carrier for quick trips to the vet. ~Just my two cents worth.~

Luvparrots
Carol, yes I do. I used it to bring Ana Grey home in and I use it for taking her outside for fresh air and sunlight. I now have her harness for the fresh air and sunlight!!!!! Mine is white.

Tigerlily
i also have the travel pack. it's very light and comfy but...... tigerlily has chewed a great big whole in the canvas after her 1st trip and wont leave it alone, i figgure its her cage and she thinks she can do what she likes to it lol. i also wouldn't like to keep her in it for too long as she only just fits in it and i've yet to figgure out how to have water in there without it spilling as it's too small for a none spill bottle. but i still think it's a great cage
CarolandFamily
Oh no maybe im glad I didn't buy it because the extra canvases are expensive to boot. Thank YOU for that advice Tigerlilly. Makes me feel good knowing that maybe I made the right decesion. I'm giving Karma for that too

Tycos_mom
I have the Adventure pack and I also have a nice little bit bigger one that I like allot so far I can't get Tyco into the Adventure Pack but she doesn't mind the other one I have its 14"x 18" x18" tall so its still easy to carry around bur it gives her mor space its big enough fora sleep cage if I ever need it to be for a noghtor two. I actually prefer it the adventure pack I find small for my larger birds they seem to get clostraphobic in it and are always trying to get out. lovethatgrey
Is the Adventure pack that they sell today, larger than the ones they sold a year ago?
judygram
No as far as I know they are the same size, its just the price that is higher, I am with Pat on the adventure pack, it is too small for a grey, I use mine for my sun conure, just right for her. GorgASS
i just bought willis a travel cage. it's awesome!! a little big for carring around with you but it's great for longer trips. i also have a smaller 16x16x20 (i think) that i use for the short trips, it's easier to carry and smaller to fit in the truck lol. but def. too small for him to be comfy in for an extended period of time. here's a pic of my bigger one...it's like 15-17 lbs or something so it's not heavy at all! http://www.greyforums.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,27/func,view/catid,5/id,142195/ it's about 1/2 way down the page
