oppie
Hey! Over the years, I've read in BirdTalk of people taking their parrots to cafes and even on errands to get them socialized. I don't think cafes and stores allow birds not in carriers. It seems like it would be against health laws. Am I wrong? I'd love to take Spencer (on his harness) and Lindsay, our Quaker (her wings were mangled by PetSmart where we got her) if it were allowed. judygram
Probably not Ralph especially in restaurants as they have sanitation regulations but maybe in outside cafes it might be permissible. I have never tried to take Josey any place like that before as I figured it wouldn't be allowed. I wouldn't want to take her to any kind of pet store just because you never know what kind of airborne disease might be lurking, I am not going to take that chance. SchroedersJen
In California, pets are allowed on outside patios, but not inside the establishment. As long as you can get to the patio w/o walking inside, you may have a pet....the problem with this is that patios are also the only place where smokers can smoke, and I dont want my birds inhaling a bunch of smoke. oppie
Hello, I agree with both of you, with one exception - the place we got Spencer. I trust them. Ralph
