Natasha
Hi Boesman is really getting to "big for his shoes' lol thanx everybody on advising me about the grooming!!! Ok here goes how do I teach him to stay on his cage when I open up?:silly: I don't mind him walking around at home but just scared if I loose sight of him for 2min that's when he usually decides to climb down:laugh: something will happen to him at night I can open the cage and he will stay put but oh boy during the day it's a no-no for him!!! judygram
He wants to be with you when he is out and he may not stay on his cage but you will just have to keep putting him back many, many times. Do you have any playstands or other things you can place him on while he is out, he may be bored with nothing to entertain him or play with on top of his cage. A lot of us have portable stands or rolling playstands where we can take them with us when we go to another room to work or do things. If he goes to the floor just pick him up and put him back as it is not a good idea to have a grey walking around on the floor, too much chance he will get stepped on and hurt, even killed if you trip over him and then land on him. Luvparrots
My Ana Grey doesn't fly so I have several toys hanging from her playtop and a cactus perch, grapevine perch, bendable rope perch, and a rope going from her cage to her cargo net which hangs in front of a window. This net also has several foraging toys hanging from it. She has places to go and things to keep her busy so she has learned not to follow me, yet if I am gone too long she will come and look for me. I put her in her cage if I think I will be gone more than several minutes. They are like any small child they want to be with their mommy or care provider. It's too bad we can't bell them!!!!
