lovethatgrey
Today I did some grocery shopping. By the time I got home I realized that 7 out of the 9 items in my bag were for my parrots. I don't think that I had intended for that to happen but there you go. Do you ever notice that when you're in the produce section you wonder whether your parrots would enjoy a certain fruit or vegetable? Or when you're going through the aisle you're checking all of the labels..not for yourself but to see whether the food item is parrot friendly.:side: I find myself purchasing certain foods that I had never purchase before. For instance, frozen vegetables YUCK:sick: I never liked them but since having parrots I must purchase this in the winter. Well today I purchased 3 bags of frozen vegetables. Corn, peas, and another assortment called Yin Yang. I can't remember what the mixture is but it looked colorful and the ingredients were fine. I must admit I would have never imagined that I would end up like this but I guess it's pretty neat.
judygram
I hear ya and I have done the same thing, checking the ingredient list on foods to see if they are suitable for my birds. And having parrots to feed can make for a better diet for ourselves for we purchase more fresh vegetables and salad fixings for I share what I eat with them, now the candy I keep that on the sly so they don't see me eat it.
redkim
Yeah - I have never had so many veggies in my house at any time. Frozen, fresh, and canned - making sure stuff is no sodium and the like. My boyfriend is the funniest though. I am the one that wanted our grey and found and bought her. But now when Scott and I go grocery shopping he is the one running up with all sorts of things for her - and money is no object. The most expensive organic nuts and veggies all go in the cart for HER not us!!

she
Yes I can imagine. I do the same.I always end up with a basket full of fruit and veg and treats for the birds.Charlie loves his veggies.I get him dates as well, they are a real hit with him. I always get the organic stuff if posible.I am aquainted with the man who manages the fruit and veg isle in the local supermarket and he always tells me what is in that the birds may like. How sad is that.Oh well . Nah! I think that it is so wonderful when parronts try to provide the very best for our parrots. For the most part they didn't choose us. We chose to have them in our homes therefore we owe it to them to do all we can to make them comfortable.

Luvparrots
I live alone so I believe Ana Grey helps keep me healthy. With only the one grey and me, someone has to help eat all those extra fresh veggies!!!!
