Gryphon
Hi all, Gryphon (23mo TAG) has been showing me some affection today: wing drooping, soft clucking, regurgitation (yum!) and I wanted to ask some questions. At his age, do I need to be concerned about his hormones? I realize these are courting behaviors and don't want to encourage inappropriate bonding or any kind of frustration. My response has been to put him back on his branch, but I also don't want him to have hurt feelings! As I'm writing this, he's in the sun room saying "I love you." Thanks! danmcq
Just let him enjoy those moments without touching him by patting on his back or rubbing his under belly. If he wants a headscratch or beak rub, thats fine. He loves you TONS!! :-)

judygram
At 23 months, almost 2 years old, he is not old enough to be sexually mature but he probably does have some hormones starting to kick in hence the behavior. Basically just ignore this and like Dan said do not rub or touch the back, under the wings or the tail area, you don't want to make him stop it but you do want to discourage it for it will stress him out.
