kljohnso
Hey guys! I went to see Simba agian last night...He looks alot better. Still waiting on some tail feathers to start growing. Sometimes I feel like he hates me..but I think its because he isnt used to me. Because he lets the workers at the petstore kiss all over him and scratch his head. Sometimes he will give me a kiss and let me pet him but sometimes he gets mad. I just cant wait to bring him home so we can be BESTFREINDS! lol. But I got my cage and brought it home and got it all set up. (Right beside my bed!) I cant wait to bring him home. It isnt gonna be too much longer. Here is a picture of the cage I got...What do you guys think?
judygram
It looks like it is a little on the small size, what are the dimensions of it? It may be ok if he is going to spend a lot of time out of it, they really need enough space that they can spread their wings and flap and not touch the sides. He doesn't hate you, he doesn't know you yet, those folks at the petstore see him all the time and are the ones that feed him, you would love the one that brings you food too if you were in his place. Can you get us some more pictures of Simba so we can see how pretty he is getting.
kljohnso
Its... Parrot Cage Dimensions: 24" W x 20" D x 60" H (overall) 34" Interior Height 3/4" Bar spacing He def. isnt going to be in it very often tho. I always forget to take pictures when I have him out at the store. Im just to excited to remember. In the future he will be getting a much bigger cage. I already know which one I want....just gotta save for it. lovethatgrey
It looks pretty nice however I think a wider cage would be more comfortable for Simba.
lovethatgrey
Here's a video of my Emma in her cage. It gives you an opportunity to see what I mean by a wider cage. Height is really not as important for african grey parrots. If your able to offer a wider cage that would be great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl0__hM8N-E

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/03/07 01:
Tycos_mom
I like the cage you have picked out for Simba in the future its very nice the one you got for her now will make a great sleep cage later. Its nice to have 2 cages. Your baby will be just fine once you get home. right now he's in a very stressful enviroment with lots of different faces looking at himm all the time. he will be much happier once he's out of the pet store and home with you
BaxtersMom
I absoluetly love the color of the cage. I've never seen a red one before. I do agree with the others though. A little wider & deeper would be a better for him but if he's out of the cage most of the time it will probably be sufficent enough.
SchroedersJen
Forget the sleep cage idea.....Birds are like potato chips, you can't stop at one. I am Sure Simba will love his cozy cage, and be happy to trade it for a larger cage and surrener it to a little brither or sister when you get a second bird. 8>
