rjhammy
Hi All: Ash, our CAG, has been with us for about a month. Today, while cleaning out her cage, I found a red tail feather. Should I be worried? What do I need to look for? It looks like it broke off. Any advice? I don't think she's plucking, but I'm not sure. Thanks!
casper
I dont think you have anything to worry about. This happens quite often with my three and is mainly due to rough play when they are inside their cages.
danmcq
I agree with Casper, it sounds like play damage. :-)
judygram
Don't be such a worry wart:pinch: they will damage feathers sometimes especially when playing with their toys, mine can get very roudy with bells.
Char
Whisper's tail is really raggedy. The way she splays them through the cage bars when she climbs around I am surpised any have survived. Good new though is that we now have one NEW bright solid red tail feather. Can't wait til they all molt.
