djzenjen Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Every time the bird fair comes to town, I'm there! I LOVE those 5 foot tall perch play gyms that have random branches every where. I just hate the price... I really want to get one of those for my flock, and decided I could build one myself by just screwing a bunch of branches together. So, I'm looking for information on what types of branches I should look for? Is there a procedure after I gather branches? Boiling them, sanding them down, etc? Has anyone else built their own stand? I'd love to build something like this for Mischief... I have a PVC bottom already, and would save a TON if I didn't have to pay for the branches and did my own work. My Amazon LOVES to chew branches. So, I'm looking into something safe that I could possibly get from my yard or the woods? (I have a huge wood lot next to my home.) Thanks for any information!
Acappella Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Here's a link someone here on the forum listed a few months ago. http://www.mdvaden.com/bird_page.shtml Also, do a search here on bird safe wood and you'll get a lot of info. Have fun.
Luvparrots Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 As I am a very uncreative person, I can't wait to see what you come up with. Good luck!!!
