sugarbeth
Non-stick cookware has the potential to kill any bird INSTANTLY if you accidently leave it on the stove. It doesn't matter where the birds are in the house. It's that bad. Not worth the risk, IMO. I have grown to love my cast iron pans - they actually work much better than teflon now that they are all seasoned.
judygram
Hello Neilley and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you. Yes it is true that you cannot use Teflon or any non-stick cookware around birds as it has the potential to kill and we do have members here who have lost a bird due that very reason. I use a lot of stainless steel and like Beth I also have cast iron that works well. This would be your first grey but is it your first parrot? You will find a lot of useful information in our many threads so read thru them and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Luvparrots
No teflon cookware and make sure you don't have a teflon ovenliner. And no cleaning your oven with oven cleaner either! The fumes are deadly to any bird.
