dhorje
How do I stop Koko from biting my ear? She is very fond of biting my ear while perching on my shoulder when we are taking a walk outside. She doesn't do that inside the house. The bite is real hard. She bites even harder when I say a stern 'NO'.
judygram
Perhaps she is annoyed about something when you take a walk outside, I would say she is trying to tell you something and you just have to figure out what that is.
Tigerlily
When Tigerlily bites my ear hard she gets a firm no, taken off the shoulder and i walk out of the room. if she bites my finngers hard sometimes its just off the hand or others into her cage with a firm no. but what does make me smile is her latest thing of biting me then saying "oi, don't bite me";) u've got 2 admire these guys. danmcq
The bite outside on the ear is letting you know she sees something and wants you to move away. They do this in the wild to each other also when something is wrong and they want the other to get going with them. They will also nip the ear in the house if just sitting on your shoulder, your ignoring them and they want your attention. At any rate, you will either need to carry Koko on your Arm, in a carrier or someplace else if you do not wish to be nipped when something is amiss. MazyAK
she is definitely drawing your attention to something she is uncomfortable with and putting you on alert. Any animal sightings or unfamiliar movements around her may be the cause.
dhorje
Thanks for your advice. Koko doesn't want to perch on my hand every time I take her out. She will find her way on my shoulder. How do I train her to perch on my hand?
