what might seem like a silly question

greys can eat strawberries can't they? brian got hold of one today and i panicked a bit cos i know fruit pits can be deadly to them and strawberrys have all the little "thingys" on the outside.

Hi beccy. I've never heard advice against strawberries and my Grey gets them in a frozen fruit mix I buy. However, none of my birds seem to like the strawberries in the mix so I'm not sure if they've actually ever eaten them or not.

i've been looking it up and it seems strawberries are a perfectly acceptable food for greys.. phew! panic over

Strawberries are an ok food for greys but mine won't eat them. I have offered them numerous times but I don't buy them that often so she has yet to eat one.

Agreed, never a silly question. Mine eats strawberries from time to time. I always eat some myself then offer to her and she will pretty much go for (or at least try) anything that I am eating... :laugh: Yesterday she had her first blackberry. Boy did she make a mess with that!

thanks everyone, i feel much better now.

 

CD i dont think brian would eat them if i put them in his dish, but he will eat anything if he thnks i'm eating it too... he's sly though, i pretended to eat his pulse mix and he looked at me like i was stupid and then walked off... clever bird.. silly ovner :laugh:
