Hello!

This maybe silly question but my friend is little worried about hers gray.

Is it normal that you can hear your grays heartbeat if you go about 20 centimeters near your bird???

Can anyone answer this, please:)

I have never heard my bird's heartbeat and she spends a lot of time up on my shoulder near my ear. I am pretty sure that is not what your friend is hearing but if she thinks something is wrong she should take her to an avian vet.

Post edited by: Char, at: 2009/01/29 11:53

There are no silly questions here but sometimes there are silly answers:blush:

I would have to put my ear up to Josey's chest to hear her heartbeat so you may want to give your avian vet a call for reassurance.

Can't hear my grey's heartbeat and I cuddle her all the time. I would listen real close to make sure this isn't a sound the grey is making and if it is not, I agree with others, it is time to see an avian vet. Good luck.

Thank's for answers to everybody.

Gray it's not mine, my friend who owns it. Now she has taken bird in to the avian vet and everything is allright. Avian vet said that maybe bird have made some noise on his throat and that sounds like heart beat:)

 Or maybe my friend have too good hearing

I'm glad everything is okay with her Grey.

She may want to get her hearing checked though...the government may be interested if it turns out she has bionic hearing! :P :silly:
