Twosteph
Hello, i'm Stephanie. New the this forum, and was told to introduce myself. I'm 17 years old, so i'm pretty young. Don't let my age make you think any different of me. I am a huge animal lover, going to school and working at a dog daycare. I have been researching all about African Greys for a a little over a year now. Its never been a good time to get one with money and time, so i've been very patient. The time has come, and after searching a couple weeks for a good breeder, I put a down payment on a beautiful baby congo, who is two weeks old. I will be getting him at 6 weeks old, so in four weeks. My mom was a vet for 26 years, and hand raised our quaker, so no need to wory about hand feeding. I'm not the one doing it, she will be. Here are some pictures of him/her. Waiting her her/him to be sexed. *Notice the small bump on the babies head who is laying down, refer to the nursery post.
casper
Hiya Stephanie, Its great you could join us! I see the bump now and I have no idea what it could be. Please let us know what the vet says wont you? Hope you enjoy the forum Steph. Caroline.
judygram
Hello Stephanie and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this baby grey. Yes you do have a baby grey, a young baby grey and thanks so much for including a pic of your baby, we all love to admire the babies, they are so adorable and you are a very pretty girl too. As we discussed the bump in another thread I hope it turns out to be nothing serious but only an avian vet can find out for sure so please let us know when you find out. You are so lucky to have a mom who was a vet and knows so much already, was she an avian vet or just an ordinary vet who treated dogs and cats? Not that you need it but we have lots of useful information in our many threads and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for sharing those pics with us and please post some in the nursery room and update them as your baby grows for they grow so quickly. Twosteph
My mom is not an avian vet, all she knows "vet wise" about birds is nutrition and hand feeding. We have hand fed many upon many babies in the past. Seems like every spring my neighbors bring a new baby bird to us to hand feed. I will be posting many pictures as my bird gets older, hopefully

PrettyPax
Hi Steph and Welcome to the forum. It must be exciting to get to know your baby as a hatchling!! Pax was 8 weeks when I met her for the first time, so she already had her grey feathers. Keep us updated!

Twosteph
Thank you for the welcome, and i'll keep you updated. My breeder lives two hours away, so I won't probably see the bird until pick up, but she promises pictures C= Meanwhile, I spend like an hour at animal house playing with the birds there. I feel so bad for him, sitting in their cage all day long =/

Eckobird
Welcome to the forum Steph! Its nice to finally meet someone who is around my age, I'm 20 (not that age matters, its just neat to meet someone my age who is also interested in greys because none of my friends are, lol.)Your baby is so cute! I bet you can't wait to take him/her home. Have you decided on any names yet? I look forward to hearing more about you and your grey.
Twosteph
Thank you luvparrots. I'll make sure to post many many pictures, I have really enjoyed looking at everyone else's already. Caitb2007, haha none of my friends get it either. They are getting so annoyed with me because all I have been talking about for the last couple months is getting this bird! They won't say anything, because they know I just love animals, so its expected, but I can tell I am getting on their nerves. For a boy, I was thinking of Bruce. I have a list of boy names, but Bruce just looks right. Ha, we'll see. As girls go, my boyfriend likes the name "Caydence" but we'll see.
