HarleysMom
Hi, I just joined your forum today. I stumbled across it a couple of days ago, and really enjoyed reading your posts. There is so much great information here about behavior and care. I have a CAG named Harley, that I've had for about 7 years, now. He's definitely a character and a half. We also have a Quaker named Hank, and a MSC2 named Fancy. Hank thinks he's a mini velocaraptor , and Fancy is a cuddlebug. Nice to "meet" everyone. Luvparrots
Hi Melissa, glad you decided to join the family. As a veteran Grey owner you must have some great stories to share and will certainly be a great addition to our forum with your years of experience. Did you get Harley as a baby? We would love to see some pictures of Harley and the rest of your flock if you have any you would like to share. Welcome to the family!!!
HarleysMom
Hi, nice to meet you. I'll definitely post some pictures, I have to get them out of the other computer. (when DS isn't playing W.O.W., lol) I bought Harley from another family when he was about a year old. He has his tempermental moments, but over all, he's a sweetie. You just never know when Mr. Hyde is going to make an appearance. I think his favorite fake out, is pretending to want to step up, in order to have someone's hand within range. He talks, mimicks, plays peek-a-boo, and is learning the "pick-a-hand" game. I hide a treat in one hand, and ask him to pick a hand. He's so intelligent, and fun. Hank we bought as a weaned baby from a wonderful breeder. He talks up a storm, and is extremely smart. Fancy, we bought from another family as a teenager. She won't step up, but likes to be played with, and scritched. She's a real sweetheart.
judygram
Hello Melissa and welcome to the family, so glad you could finally join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your flock but especially Harley. You are right about our site, we have a ton of good info and many knowledgeable grey owners who are more than willing to help each other out with any problems they may encounter. That is quite a description of your quaker, haven't quite heard them described that way but if it fits then use it, I am sure he has earned it. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Harley you would like to share with us we would love to see them and we have an other birds room where you can share some of Hank and Fancy. HarleysMom
LOL When Hank (QP)first came home, he would chase my daughter's feet, relentlessly. Thankfully, we did get him to stop. But when he used to chase her, his neck would be outstretched, wings back, and running like one of the dinosaurs on Jurassic park. I was terrified that he would accidentally, get stepped on. He honestly thinks he's one of the big boys, no fear at all. Thank you very much for the welcome, I'm really looking forward to reading everyone's experiences and ideas.
